New Honda CB Shine. Review on Honda Shine

I used to have Passion plus which I brought 1 year old bike and drove it for 5 years till date it was giving 62kmpl (what ever the speed range it may be, I even went in 90's for continuous 100 kms range with pillion rider, even if there was any change in mileage not more than 3 kms) and I used passion plus with zero maintainance. At most not more than 1-2 servicing in a year.. Unfortunately I lost that bike and need to look for immediate replacement..

I need a fuel efficient bike then I choose Honda shine rather than New passion based on reviews and my personal opinion as I didnt like new passion plus..

CB Shine costed me 69k on road.. for the first one month I used speed petrol and drove carefully.. the mileage used to vary lot irrespective of driving conditions.. the top mileage was around 75-78 kmpl before 1st servicing(even I got mileage of around 40-50 kmpl sometimes) the very first problem I faced was the air pressure in the tubeless tyres.. it used to decrease to 20 in just 1-2 days.. I don't know what's happening but mileage of bike was affecting a lot.. by the time of first servicing I had problems in acceleration set up, Some body parts became loose had DIsc which holds your handle..

Servicing is extremely poor they didn't rectify any issues later I solved disc problem and cleared handle issue with local mechanic but accelerator had problems.. As the time went on air pressure problem went off... un fortunately I missed second servicing as I gave bike to my dad and the bike ran around 3k kms with problem which made mileage around 48-53 kmpl and engine used to generate huge sound..

At the time of servicing My self mentioned accelerator problem is not rectified and its a big pblm..They didn't rectify atleast one problem and I did take my bike on that day instead made a complaint to store manager about the issue even they didn't wash the bike all stains are as it is..

Again the next day when I went to collect the bike the accelerator problem, chain and brake problem it was still there again I went back and lost two hours to repair that.. in just one week again chain came off the gear...

Servicing is extremely poor.. I am not going to service it in HONDA SHOW ROOM any more.. Even I doubt that they steal the parts.I don't know the battery which was working well before second servicing is not the same after servicing. the indicators cant flash they just keep blowing without buzzer..

Now the bike's mileage is as improved as accelerator and chain problem was rectified and good driving conditions(30-50 kmph) constructive acceleration gives around 70kmpl (now the bike is six months old ran 6k kms and had done only two servicing with oil changed twice).

What I like:

Mileage is excellent with maintenance or zero  maintenance  and power of the bike Dislike:

when running your bike in four gear you feel like having fifth gear.. If Honda adds fifth gear the bike becomes more smooth..For me, I don't think that noise of the bike is that less so if silencer is rectified, you feel the complete smoothness

Conclusion:

BIke is very good but misses the excellence only in terms of Fifth gear... handling is ok but not that good... U can go at 60-70kms but u wont feel to drive the bike any more than 75 as it becomes uncomfortable engine sounds a lot(may be because bike is new) my top speed is 75 with pillion rider..

Its a daily commuter bike with good looks..Not suited for racing or acceleration.. If u treat it that way it will cost you in mileage. For a long distance daily commuter like me who travels 70 kms in a day the bike is ok...

Regarding comfort its not suggested for long drives as shoulders, four arms and back starts paining... This is my review of new Honda Shine bike after six months..

If you want excellent mileage in 125 cc segment with performance and limited distance no other option than this bike..No 125cc bike is a choice other than shine :)

But if you want to give away mileage then go and take any other 150 cc bike but shine is not suggested.. the main drawback is shine misses the special suspension system that is provided in 150 cc (mono, GRS suspension etc)
