My name is Ramchandra, residing in Udupi, Karnataka. Recently, my brother bought Honda Shine on Jan 2007. Now this bike covered 3, 050 Kms in city (medium traffic). Everyday he travels 20-22 Kms without pillion. During week-end, I also take this bike to main city.
Initially this bike was giving 60+/Ltr mileage with HP ordinary petrol. Now after covering 3000 Kms, it is giving 65-66 mileage/Ltr. Till now, we have not spent a single rupee except Engine Oil for maintenance (off course, bike under warranty period). Some specification / good futures / benefits of this bike: 125CC with 10.3 BHP, 1280 mm Wheelbase, 120 Kg. dry weight with Self-start & Drum model. Rs. 48, 800 with all accessories in Karnataka when we bought.
Opti-max engine: You can ride this bike at a lower speed of 14-15 Kms/Hr while in top gear (4th gear) without any knocking sound or engine-jerks. This is very useful to attain maximum mileage where there is busy traffic. Very good sitting position which really avoid back-ache (if you have the problem).
Tips to maintain / attain maximum mileage / pickup: Always use CASTROL’S Power for engine, Don’t cross the limit of 45 Kms/Hr during initial 5000 Kms. Clean and lubricate the wheel-chain with 140 Grade VEEDOL Engine oil for every 1000 Kms. (Veedol 140 Grade is the thickest engine oil having high viscosity). Maintain correct tyre pressure to avoid bending of wheels and friction. Go for this International Brand without any hesitation.
