Honda Jazz has been launched in India at a price of between Rs. 5.31 - 8.59 lakhs( ex-Delhi)

To become owner of this car I paid  Rs  9.5 lac for IDTeC VX Trim with insurrance and RC. Yes it is an expensive affair if one look around within this price range other Car Manf are offering more value for money but if u r Honda lover then ok.

What I like after commuting over 10000 km in 6months use time.

•It is a Versatile package wearing sharp clothes. One car for several roles

• Spacious, user-friendly cabin. May be the roomiest hatchback in India

• Big 354 liter boot is the segment best. Magic seats bring tons of flexibility but on the cost of seating comfort of middle occupant. Best for two adults as centre bulge is quite uncomfortable for long journey .

• Practical & efficient diesel not much refined noisy one.

• Comfortable ride quality. Found Much improved over the older Jazz as my close friend is owner of old one.

• Light controls and easy maneuverability. Effortless to drive in the city

• Features such as feather-touch climate control not  a best option as off eye it is difficult to operate, reversing camera not better than lower version V trim option this irony one is going for higher trim and getting less, touchscreen ICE lack touch sensitivity.

  • I am getting fuel economy of 21Km to 23 km /ltr in my daily commute of over 60km in hilly road and 2km of city busy condition odrivability. Even In hilly train with bad road condition( preferably for SUV) I drove over 400km and got avg of 18.5 km. with rare shift to even 4th gear. One can say there claim of just over 27km /ltr cant meet in real condition but overall impressive.

. Control, braking spot on no issue, steering( precise) feel and heavyness of vehicle is great. For this No match with Honda.

. Earlier I have driven Alto, estilo, Beat and Etios cross all petrol & swift VD but this IDTeC run like petrol no lag at all but dont rev hard only give u noise as no zip effect like Swift . this linear and once u get familier it is fun to drive with additional 6th gear.

What I feel Honda fail to observe

• Loud diesel engine is nowhere as refined as the Elite i20's.

• On-road premium for diesel is Rs. 1.3 - 1.5 lakhs! That's higher than the competition

• Magic seats only on the cost of 3rd rear passenger sitting comfort.

• Skinny 175 mm tyres. All competitors offer thicker rubber( Elite i20= 195 mm) not fit with its body proportion

• Missing goodies( steering reach adjustment need of telescopic one, keyless entry  & go, rear air-con vents, driver armrest felt really odd come in acessory part costing more than 15k& proper dead pedal) . AC is sluggish and noisy.

. Even in top trim no option to attach USB, Aux on front console as offered in lower variants. one only can say Hats off to Honda design team. This is pure cheating.

My verdict:

Not value for money but being a brand concious this is gud but half hearted effort for indian market.

If it cost 60k less then it will be as gud as I20. Being a Honda lover I just beared this with smile.
