I purchased a Honda Dio (AFTER BOOKING AND THE WAITING) .
Picked it from show room and drove around for a few months, then I left for the US leaving the scooter idle for 1 years, on returning I immediately serviced the scooter at dealer and started using it and below was my experience.
1) Battery was not holding any charge.
2) The kick starter got stuck, got it repaired Rs 350/- at road side mechanic
3) Replaced battery (could not afford to get stuck at traffic lights). (Rs400/-)
4) Found millage of 33kms/litre.
5) Oil was leaking (scooter has done only 8000kms)
6) complained to HMSI, who promptly asked me to visit nearest dealer.
7) Gave to dealer. Imformed that rubber parts are not under warranty . I have to pay for parts and labour (FOR A SCOOTER THAT HAS DONE ONLY 8,000KMS). Also informed that this is a common problem (the kick starter problem also) with Honda Dio and activa.
Yaar if this is a common problem what are the HMSI and Dealer doing about it. (ZZZZZ!!!)
Anyway the dio still gives me 37kms after spending Rs450/- for servicing.
SUSPENSIONS ARE HORRIBLE. Bottom Aches if I ride more then 15kms (singles). With doubles may be max 10kms before both the riders bottom aches and rear rider will develop cramps in legs because of the rear foot rest postions.
I did not expect Honda quality to be so bad, I have really made a mistake purchasing this vehicle, would not recommend to any body else from my personal experience.
MORAL : If company uses bad parts (e.g Rubber seals, shock absorber etc), You have to pay for both the spare and the repairs.
