I have been owning this vehicle for about 3 months now.
I needed to upgrade my scooter from a TVS Scooty. Initially I wanted to buy an Activa but it was heavy at 120kgs. The Dio is 12kgs lighter due to plastic panelling.
It has give me absolutely no problems except the kickstart lever. On enquiring with the dealer he said that all Dios have the kickstart lever problem.
Performance:
I would give it full points. For a scooter of its class and considering its capacity it is stunning. Even critics will agree to this. The pick-up and top speed is good. It takes arund 15 or so seconds to reach 60. Top speed is around 80kmph. Braking is top class and they dont wear off after repeated use. Overall the performance deserve full points. It is very silent too. It produces around 7bhp. Te engine is same as Activa. The tyres are thick and grippy.(They are not that good for rains and slushy surfaces as they tend to slip.)
Economy
The maximum fuel efficiency I could achieve was 55kmpl but you can expect around 40-50kmpl in city driving or overall conditions. The mileage is better than my Scooty which is why I upgraded to the Dio. But if you want more mileage the Kinetic Nova gives around 60-70kmpl.
Looks
I need not say anything about this. It is top class. The plastic panels loose their shine after some time if one does'nt teflon coat them.
Maintainence
It is problem free just like the other hondas like Hero Honda bikes.
Just needs regular servicing. No extra visits to the dealer.
Summing it up
It is the best gearless scooter available in the country today. Great performance and good looks as well as respectable mileage make this machine.
I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to buy it. The quality is top class as you would expect from a Honda vehicle.
