My all new honda city. Review on Honda City 1.5L i-VTEC

I wanted to buy a sedan & was adamant between Honda or Toyota brand with a budget of 10 lakhs; a lakh here & there was permissible.Test drove all new city as well as altis;though altis falls in league of civic, yet it was considered.

As i never wanted to go for civic;i finalised the all new city & ended up buying a 1.5 vmt variant which looked more graceful.i zeroed down to bold beige color which i liked among all colors.

I will first mention the good bits of this car along with the bad ones later

1.the design & looks of the car are very sharp .

1. The engine delivers smooth yet strong power & performs flawlessly in all gears.

   
   




2. wont experience any clatters, vibes or harshness from the engine.

   
   

4.it delivers an amazing mileage.it is highly fuel efficient. The on board display has shown 19.8 kmph per litre with a.c on a tour of 500 kms to shirdi @ a speed of 80kmph with 1400 kms on odometer till now.the worst as delivered in city driving conditions is 14.8 which is brilliant.

1. The cabin is well insulated & u feel cocooned away from the worldly noise pollution.

   
   




2. The suspension works well & seldom u will experience a jittery ride.it eats potholes well, but u have to be nimble, else @ high speeds u will experience a crashy ride over potholes

   
   




3. The air-conditioning is superb & cools the cabin fast.

   
   




4. Gearbox is slick to use & u get accurate throws.

   
   

8.seating comfort is adequate & seats are well bolstered.

9.the music system sounds nice & u can have a blast too.

10.cabin is airy & u wont experience any blockades in your vision.

1. Rear seating is comfortable.

   
   




2. Decent boot space.

   
   




3. Responsive steering with inbuilt audio controls.

   
   




4. If equipped with factory fitted Michelin xm1 tyres, you will get a sound free drive.

   
   

15.the alloys, fog-lamps & a dash of chrome changes the outlook of this car completely.

I think i have praised a lot. Now, its high time to share with u all as what i felt seriously missing in this car which is priced @ 10 lakhs

1.the sheet metal as used in this car is of thin gauge which is highly prone to receive even small dents soon.

1. The ground clearance is low & with 4 people on board, u will have to bring this car to dead slow speed over breakers so as to avoid scrapping the beneath surface.

   
   




2. The intensity of headlight beam is very poor. Change the bulbs to high power rated ones. I'm not advising to switch to hid or xenon as they fade the front lenses.

   
   

4.the quality of interiors is a shear let down. The quality of the materials used is tad poor.instead of using silver element on the doors, a blend of dark wood with matt chrome would have made the interiors more pleasant.

1. Absenteeism of climatronic ac in a Honda city is surprising.even swift has it

   
   




2. The seating must have been in leather in v variant @least

   
   

7.auto fold mirrors are must which are lacking.

8.lack of cd player.

1. Lack of dual glove box.

10.ac rotary knobs reflect cheap-ism & are a shear let down.

11.lack of ashtray .

1. Should have an electronic antennae.

   
   




2. he meter console should have been opitron.

   
   




3. Both the keys should be remote operated

   
   

15..must have carried a sunroof along.

The wish list will be a never ending one but i personally feel the lack of these features in this car @ a price of 10 lakhs. Rest is all a fantastic package on a whole.

Honda is a trustworthy brand & it will give a sense of assurity & peace of mind in your ownership period.
