This is my first review, would appreciate feedbacks. I have been driving Hyundai Accent GVS ( 76000 Kms) before buying this ANHC grey colour on 2nd Oct 2009, done 3700Kms till date. I took this car out for long drives to Mathura, Jaipur etc (covering around 150-250 kms in one stretch).

I will not get in to specs of car but would like to share my personal exp. with Pros and cons and would like to share some of the real user experience which we normally ignore. just for info, I booked Sx4 and cancelled it at last moment before booking honda.

Pros:

  1. Very smooth and reliable Engine

  2. Power steering is just amazing and I really love that as I have always been driving Hyundai cars Ascent

and Santro -having oil fed PS as compared to EPS

  1. car is quick to pick as compared to older ZX model

  2. Central locking is good as it is manual and don't lock on its own when u make ignition ON and unlock when u switch off ignition

  3. You can nt lock car manually without closing all doors-No way--you have to use ur central locking only--good way to save u from locking ur key inside

  4. No cabin noise inside till 100km/hr, above that speed also, it is quite nominal as compared to sx4 etc

  5. Style icon--I have always seen people praising for this car -though I feel that Civic is still a justice at this price, I always wanted to go for Civic but unfortunately it didnt  fit in to my house covered parking so went for this car

8.Airbag is definitely a plus, never felt happiness of having ABS as car looked misfit for the same due to its light weight ( I had one incidence though it was my mistake that I tried to check its pick up on busy Delhi road --I was driving fast, all of a sudden one auto driver stopped in front of me and I applied pedal breaks and hand break as well, all the four wheels locked immediately, I felt as if my car raised above road by some cms and it swerled to the right side. thank god, I cud still manage to stop without banging that auto but I still feel that this car is light weight for its power) I would definitely have stopped Ascent with much ease even without ABS.

Cons:

  1. Highly overpriced --does not look value for money

  2. Car does not look steady when you go above 100km/ hr on highway -I had quite incidents where I lost

control of car --it was just awsome in accent, never ever had exp. in three years that I ever felt like

loosing control ( pl. note that Accent was not having any ABS and I drove 76K kms before selling it)

  1. During night if you forget to switch off your front light -Your front light remains in full even after switching off ignition, it doent cut off to parking light --very basic feature ( even in santro). much above that the glowing dial of Honda is always deceiving as it glows during day as well so it does nt make any visible difference in dial when u switch ON ur front lights

4.  may not be a big problem -but u have got a driver side all window locks but when u lock it , it does nt even allow driver to handle remaining three passenger windows except the driver side. ( in accent after locking, driver cud still control all 4 windows but non of the passenger could open)--I think it was better way.

  1. The side mirros are bit big as compared to older model ( though still better than SX4 or verna :) )

  2. car looks light in weight while driving at high speeds above 110km/ hr on highway, never felt sturdy like my old accent or even I like toyota corolla for the same.

7 Would have appreciated atleast electonically retractable outside rear view mirros, I love to open my side mirros when on highway and would definitely like to close the left side mirror as soon as I get in to city.  ( car looks incomplete in looks when u close one left side mirror--LOL, this is my personal observation)

  1. Ground clearance is definitely a concern, it hits road pretty quick if you just mistime any pothole on time

  2. getting an average of 11 kms with/ w/o AC in city, got 15 km/L on jaipur highway with 80% AC ON.

Still expecting the same to improve after 2nd service as first service was just a touch and go at 1000kms.

  1. car has got low seating, height adjustment of driver seat don't help as it jst raise ur lumbar support and not much from ur hip place. ( this is again my personal observation). I was much comfortable in ascent on the road view both front and rear.
