Before I bought my Honda City in 2006 I had owned & driven a Maruti Suzuki 800 & a Fiat Palio.None of the mentioned cars matches the ride quality of a Honda City though the Fiat Palio came in very close to being an almost maintenence free car like the Honda City.Deciding & purchasing the Honda City wasn't a difficult decision for me.Browsing thru a number of websites and siffling various car mags I had made up my mind to purchase a Honda City.

It is a beautiful car to drive , be it driving within city limits or on a highway the drive is so smooth that you barely feel any fatigue. The steering column is so light that I virtually manovure my car with my thumb & index finger of my right hand, although I would not recommend, this being a safety hazzard. One drawback which I feel of an extra light steering wheel is that on an highway in high speed a slight mishandling of the steering wheel can lead to disasterous results.Just be careful.

Maintenence wise this car has not bothered me even once since the day I have purchased it.I want to confess one bad habit of mine which is my laziness.Due to which for months on I do not get my car serviced, not even the basic service, though I got all the 3 free services consumed well in time when the car was purchased. The point here is that this car requires minimum of maintenence, which translates into more savings, keeping your pockets heavier.Same is the case on the fuel front.

This car is not a fuel guzzeler but is very frugal on fuel.Looks as if it loves to go on a hunger strike for after each refuel & that too after a loong gap.My car gives a pretty decent average of 13KMPL within city limits of Mumbai & 15-16KMPL on an highway with A.C.One major drawback of this car is that it's base is too low for Indian roads. With 5 people sitting inside the bottom of the car grazes past the speed breaker while manovering a speed breaker & you feel a thud in your heart and pray for the safety of the exhaust or the fuel tank.As I have mentioned 5 people, including the driver, can sit very comfortably in this BIG car.3 at the rear and 2 in the front. The back seat ride is also very comfortable without any jerks or bumps.

Getting inside or outside the car is also very quick. The doors open up wide to allow a comfortable entry & exit. The car has also got a huge boot, Honda claims it to be a 500Ltr one, I do not know how they measure, but it really has a large boot. The car is vey safe with a lot of basic safety features thrown in but I feel, the Honda people should have added more safety features like air bags, abs to even the base model of the car as the cost at which this car is being offered here in India is definately on the higher side.

In my conclusion I would like to say that the Honda City is an extremely adorable family car with a design which will remain as fresh in the years to come.
