At last dream came true in the Month of June while taking control of a world class vehicle Honda City.I call it dream come true beacause I started with Indigo CS as it was pocket friendly for the people like me with compact budget. Graduating from Indigo to Honda is a journey to dreamland for me.
Doing a lot of discussions with friends, making comparisons among Aveo, Hyundai, Ford Fiesta and Honda City came to an end with purchase of Honda City from Prime Honda, Vaishali. After taking Indigo CS from my choice list , I was interested for Aveo because of its look, affordability. After the debacle of GM I slightly hesitated to go for it.
Then I though of Hyundai, Ford Fiesta and Honda City. But cost wise the new honda is not comparable with the other two. I tested Ford Fiesta, Fusion Plus, Honda City. Hyundai does not have time and inclination for providing test drive. The dealers at Delhi and Noida are not up to mark. Ford dealer in Noida is very sensible. Mr. Khalid is very friendly and doing a good job for his company. But in all these aspects Honda has developed a company wide tradition of dealing with customers with high esteem.
Actually as the costs were going out of my budget I decided to go for a company certified pre-owned vehicle. Being a Maruti owner I had ruled out to go for Maruti. But I had tested SX4. Though the car is a good value for money I did not like stiff steering. Also the side view from a drivers seat is slightly obstructing.
I visited Prime Honda , Vaishali with one of my friend (who owns a used Honda) with an intention of going for a used vehicle through Auto-Terrace of Honda. Though the three vehicles available at that time were within my budget of Rs.5.0 lakh I did not like the colour. As I was coming back I could spot Honda City ZX GXI standing in the show room. I was not expecting this in the month of May as New City is already launched. I enquired with the sales person. Ms. Sweta Sahni of Prime Honda deserves a lot of credit for making my dream car reality.
Company was offering a cash discount of Rs50K and the price on road came out to Rs7.5 lakh- a long stretch from my budget. The finance provided by Kotak in collaboration with Prime Honda is more taxing. I took the loan from SBH which was softer by about 1%. Finally I brought my Honda City ZX GXI on 2nd June 2009.
After purchase I would like to share that Ford Fiesta can get high score when it comes to power and cost. But Honda rates higher when it is service, fuel economy and performance of the vehicle.
