Wow. This is what everyone will say when they enter the Honda Showroom and see the GOLDEN colour Dazzler. The Colour impressed me very much. A dual tone seat cover, front scoops, lifted pillion seat, mono suspension, rear discs, tubeless tyres at a price of just 4000 over the CB unicorn makes it a worth choice.

  1. ENGINE: When coming to the engine part, Dazzler is equipped with the same 149.1cc powerhorse as the CB unicorn. Silky smooth engine again. Clutch and Gears are like a hot knife in the butter as the CB unicorn. Marvelous piece of engineering. Power has been slightly increased in Dazzler and it oozes out 14 Bhp @8500 Rpm, which is 13.3 Bhp@8000 Rpm in the CBunicorn. But I did not felt that much change in pickup because of that 0.7bhp increase. But it increases in smooth fashion. I could not test the top speed of the vehicle. Honda claims the top speed of Dazzler to be 120 kmph. Mileage figures are same as the old CB unicorn. Honda claims 60 for the new dazzler, but my opinion is it may give around 50 in city riding conditions. Dazzler provides 1.3 Kg-m torque at 6500 RPM while CBunicorn provides the same 1.3Kg-m torque at just 5500 RPM. So CB unicorn wins the Dazzler in this part. CB unicorn comes with both kick start and Electric start while Dazzler has only electric start. But maintenance free battery in both CB unicorn and Dazzler provides a hassle free start. Both CB unicorn and Dazzler also has the vicious air filter which helps in cutting down maintenance cost. So in engine part I give both CBUnicorn and the Dazzler 10/10.

  2. HANDLING AND LOOKS: When coming to looks, Dazzler beats the CB unicorn. The stylish headlight design, front scoops and the lifted rear provides a distinctive looks for the Dazzler. But the headlight and the front doom design is giving a same look like CB twister. The front scoops also looks a same look like CB twister. If Cb twister and Dazzler are kept near by and if you see it both in front from a certain distance u cant identify which one is twister and which one is dazzler. The headlight and the scoops looks same in both. But the Rear looks and the side looks of the Dazzler wins. The half case chain cover gives a sporty look for Dazzler. But I personally feel that chain cover is very necessary for the Indian roads. the half chain case is very sporty, but it may increase the maintenance charge of the Chain. While Dazzler has a sporty look, CB unicorn has the classic look of a commuter bike. CB unicorn is highly reliable and Dazzler will be also reliable(could not say perfectly because its a new one). But its a honda make. It will be surely reliable. In looks I give 9/10 for dazzler and 8/10 for CB unicorn.

When coming to handling, the mono suspension and the advance diamond frame provides wonderful handling in both Dazzler and CB unicorn. But I feel more stable in CB unicorn than Dazzler because of the huge 146 Kg machine. I feel sticked to the road and very stable in CB unicorn due to its heavy weight and its huge wheel base of 1340mm. In dazzler, the weight is reduced to 138Kg which makes the city riding a breeze. But I do no how it reacts in high speeds because of the reduced weight and the slightly reduced wheel base(1328mm). But in speeds of 40(which I reached maximum), I feel very safe and have full control of the vehicle. Thanks for Honda handling department. In handling I give CB unicorn 10/10 and Dazzler 9/10.

  1. TYRES AND BRAKING: The CB unicorn is loaded with 2.75*18 tyre in the front and 100/90 tyre in the rear. The front tyre is tube type and the rear one comes with Honda patented Tuff-Up tube which reduces sudden deflation of tyre in case of punctures. Cornering is also made easy because of its big back tyre. Tyres are of good quality. In Dazzler, front tyre is of 80/100 and the rear one is of 110/80 which is bigger than CB unicorn and the Dazzler is loaded with TUBELESS tyre in both front and back which does its job very well.

CB unicorn is loaded with 240 MM disc brakes in front and 130mm drum brakes in rear, which provides good braking performance. But Dazzler is equipped with 240mm discs in front and 220mm discs in the rear while provides a good braking performance than CB unicorn. The rear discs are little spongy, but by using both brakes the stopping is very good. But Discs should be used with caution. It should be applied in a correct way.  I saw many people slipping from their bikes while applying disc brakes(Mostly in rainy days and sandy roads). So I give both CB unicorn and Dazzler 10/10 in tyres and braking.

  1. COMFORTNESS AND CONSOLE: CB unicorn is very comfortable for even long non stop rides because of its height and seating position. Dazzler's seating position is also comfortable but the height is reduced in Dazzler which I easily felt. While seeing the specifications I noted that the height of CB unicorn is 1100mm and the height of dazzler is 1085mm.The Dazzler's length and the width is also slightly reduced. Dazzler is also comfortable in long rides. But the seat may had some more cushion.I give 10/10 for both CB unicorn and Dazzler in comfort.

The CB unicorn holds 13 litres of petrol and the Dazzler holds 12 litres of petrol as per the provided specifications. Honda also provides 5 years warranty on engine for both the vehicles which is very useful. CB unicorn is available in 3 colours. Black, Red and silver. All the colours looks good and Black is marvelous. Dazzler is available in four colours Black, silver, red and Armour gold which is also equally good and Gold colour is definitely eye catching. Paint quality is excellent in both bikes.

The CB unicorn comes with analogue console. I am a fan of analogue display. The speedometer is placed in middle with tachometer in left and the fuel gauge in right. Its easy to read and also accurate. It is also equipped with a trip meter which is helpful in calculating mileage. But Dazzler comes with a digi console and it is neatly finished. A huge white tachometer is placed along with a small digital display, which provides speed, fuel guage and a trip meter. It is also accurate enough. So I give Dazzler 10/10 for the console and CB unicorn 9/10.

The Dazzler comes with slightly lifted rear which ladies and old people may find difficult because of its raised position. But in CB unicorn even the ladies and old people will find it comfortable as a pillion. But it is clear that CB unicorn is both commutarish and stylish, while Dazzler is simply sporty. Its a nice experience for me test riding both the vehicles. CB unicorn is priced at 67608(on road Chennai) and Dazzler is priced at 71645(on road Chennai). Both are good value for money. Those who are looking for a good bike for daily travel with a pillion, go for CB unicorn, as it is a commuter vehicle also. Those who are looking for a sporty vehicle(mainly for youths and college guys), simply go for Dazzler, which will be surely sporty and turn heads off. But remember guys, both CB unicorn and Dazzler has the same engine. Dazzler engine is just tweaked for better performance and engine is not being changed.Happy riding.
