I bought Honda CB Twister (high end model) in last week of April 2011 from Fortune Motors (Hyderabad). I went to buy Unicorn and ended up buying CB Twister as there was a delay period of 4 months for Unicorn delivery.

Backgound: I had been riding Hero Honda Passion plus for the past 7 years and I really liked it a lot and as it was getting old, I bought a new one and gave Honda more preference due to their engine and ruled out Pulsar as there are more Pulsar than street dogs in Hyderabad (sad but true, no offense meant to Pulsar owners).

My First Ride: It was awesome due to its pickup. Engine was smooth but had bit problems with the gear shifting as I was more addicted to HH gear shifting but now after a month it feels awesome shifting the gears with the toe.

Daily Usage: Daily I ride about 65 kms as my office is around 30+ kms from my house.

Below are my review/observations after riding the bike for 1 month (first servicing done):

Before First Servicing: (max speed: 50-55 kmph)

Pros:

1) Great Pickup: Was able to compete with 150 CC bikes for initial pickup.

2) Mileage : Was constantly getting 65 KM/ltr

3) Style : Makes people turn their heads.

Cons:

1) Engine Vibrations: I felt a lot of vibrations on my Handle bar when I reached 50+ and sometimes I felt numbness in my hands which I never felt in my HH Passion plus. Due to this vibration I am not having a clear image of vehicles behind me in my mirror.

2) Gear Shift Problem: I have problem getting bike into first gear from neutral because of which I had to move my bike back and forth to get it into first gear and I even used to have gear shift problem. Even after moving the gear from 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th or vice versa there used be a big sound as if gears are not shifted properly .

3) Rear Tyre: This can be considered as one of the biggest draw back in this bike. I never felt confident while taking turning near the curves and I got scared when I rode my bike in sand for the first time as the rear tyre skids.

4) Open chain: For the time being there is no problem with it but dont know what will be the impact of rain and dust on this in future.

I gave a written letter to the Service center guys with the above problems during my first service but no idea what they have done to rectify these issues.

After servicing, I felt as if the vibrations are reduced than before but not completely and even the pickup has got hampered but need to check if mileage has got increased as they are inversely proportional. This I will let you know in my next review.
