I had actually set my mind on the CB Unicorn 150 but was not willing to wait for 3 months. I immediately liked this bike after test drive for its good pickup and smoothness of ride, gear box and comfortable sitting position.

I chose this bike in July 2011 for the following reasons

  • Honda reliability

  • mileage

  • light-weight bike good for single use

  • Excellent power(9 bhp)

I bought the black color bike with self start and the drum version. The day I took delivery I noticed on my way home that the gears were slipping(2nd & 3rd). I took the bike back to the showroom. I was immediately shocked to see their careless attitude. They sent a 14-15 year old kid to see the bike who put in the stand and checked all the gears and said it is fine and I should use it for some time.

I used the bike with the gear slippage problem until the first service and asked them to rectify the problem. They promised action but the problem was not solved. I also noticed that the mileage dropped from 65 - 50 after first service. After roughly 2 months from purchasing the gear box gave serious problem and was not shifting to the 4th at all. I took it to the service station and they kept the bike there for a week promising to deliver the next day. I had to escalate to the MD of Haiku Honda to get the bike back after the first week.

Though the problem with the gear was fixed the service was done so badly that the engine oil was leaking and they did not have the "O" ring required to stop this; I had to wait for 15 more days for this problem to be fixed.

There is one other serious problem I noticed, the bike vibrates so much past the 45 KM mark that my crotch area started getting numb after driving for 10 kms. This is one problem that has continued from day one though the gear box problem is now fixed.

My biggest worry is braking. The braking on this bike is worst. I have survived near fatal accidents twice as the bike skids very easily even from a speed of 40-50. Yes, I knew the bike had thin tyres when I bought it but I did not think the braking will be so bad.

I have now finally sold the bike for 37000. I would say good riddance. These are my personal experiences and I am not anti-Honda. I love my activa. Even after 4 years it is a good bike and I will never sell it.Please test the twister on your own before you make an opinion.

Thanks,

Satya
