It is almost one and half years I have been using this scooter in the worst traffic conditions of bangalore.
My Aviator.
Purchased: 2008 june.
Dealer: Saphire Honda.
Odometer reading till now: 12006
Average mileage: 38 kmpl
Till now the experience with Aviator has been good, except the following things.
Every morning choke pulling is required to start the scooter
Servicing required every 2000 - 2500 kms else the pickup will be sluggish and performance degrades
Rear pillion seating in not comfortable for all, some of my pillion riders have complaint of bumpy ride(may be because of the road condition)
Not a happy and comfortable handling for Ladies, as they feel uncomfortable to handle the scooter due to its height and weight.
It is really a pleasure to drive this scooter and I do really enjoy its with my wife in the winding and busy roads of Bangalore. We do use this scooter to its fullest extend, weekends it will help us to ship the grocery and all shopping needs. While going to office it will be a office bike which will carry our raincoat and tiffin box .
It has been very trustworthy for us as it did not let us down except in one instance, when a iron nail was the culprit which ripped the rear tyre.
We had used our Aviator as companion to our trips to Shivaganga, Nandi hills etc. during which we were very happy of its handling in the Highways and in the hill side roads. So it had served us all the purpose of a good family scooter.
We do not go for race and the performance from the 102 cc engine is very much acceptable in the town/highway roads which we commute as normal urban users. The pickup during the lower rpms are very much optimised for the stop and go city signals, we could feel this when we use this scooter in city signals as when the green comes we will be ahead of the other bikes, unless Pulsars and yamaha's are around.
One thing I would like to bring up is the pathetic service from the dealers, Due to the fact that so many bikes come to the service, they do not do the service properly and I had seen that the parts are not cleaned during some of the services. This is Bad and the quality of the service needs to to be improved.
