After having driven this car for about 10, 000km I think I can talk about this car.
Details - I have Honda Amaze, Diesel, Automatic, bought in Aug 2018.
Pros -
Good milage.
Good driving experience during day and at night only in absence of oncoming headlights from the opposite direction.
Effective AC.
Cons -
Head lights - Illumination is not adequate and you feel even a small hatch back got a better deal.
Tail lights - Half of it is reflector only(on the boot lid) so do not get fooled by the size. The illumination falls in the same category as head lights and god help you if you are driving in fog then there is fair probability of getting hit from behind.
Passenger Space - A very spacious car but do not consider it a family car; if there are three adults and 2 kids/4 adults in the car then the car bottom will scrape against almost all the speed breakers which are not the small yellow black plastic ones. It is not hard to imagine what will happen if you put something in the boot.
Boot Space - Boasts best in class boot space, but no one realises the problem of usability. The connectors highlighted in the photo below show connectors for the light on rear regn number plate, which keep protruding out. Therefore, if you keep a big suitcase in the boot and move the car it slides and breaks these connectors, if you fill the boot completely and shut the lid again these will break / come out.
Glove box lid - Opens if one hits a bad patch on the road.
Grab Handles above the windows - Placed slightly back and tend to hit one's head especially the ones with the rear seat.
Overall - While competitive pricing makes it attractive but one feels cheated thinking of the the things mentioned above. And one feels like a guinea pig because this fastest selling car is actually the fastest selling experiment by Honda and test is on the customer. I have received 3 calls from Honda since August till date to take a feedback about the faults in the car. Thus it is a conscious choice Honda has made to fool customers.
But then one should understand unless the corners are cut pricing cannot be competitive.
