My Honda Activa. Review on Honda Activa

There are Bikes. there are scooters and then there is Honda ACTIVA.

You talk about the product if you like it or if u dislike it. an I LOVE my ACTIVA.

I think after 6 months and 6000Kms I can do justice and write a review. Here it goes.

I has been a long dream of owning a bike and the dream came true in May 2009.

As I am a married guy I was looking out for a bike which I and my wife can drive. Though there are quite a few options available in market, I thought of each one before finalizing Activa

• Bajaj Kristal                   - Ruled out - Looks very small for a person of my size [ 70+ Kgs;-) ].

  
  




• Hero Honda Pleasure - Ruled out - Though a good scooter the marketing they have done is mostly for female users

  
  




• TVS Scooty - Ruled out - Girly looks

  
  




• Kinetic - Good one but didnt appeal me.

  
  




• Kinetic Italiano - I liked it. but huge one for a scooter thing

  
  




• Suzuki Access - I like this one too and was near to finalize. but there were no service station near to the place where I stay. The nearest Access service station is 25+ Kms away

  
  

So after all this search and analysis I dropped in Honda showroom where the new Activa was on display. I instantly decided to book.

I got the delivery in 1st Week of May and since then I am enjoying my ride

• Looks: Overall the looks are good. It looks slightly bigger than older version. The dealer(Sai Point, Thane) has made the round guard & crash guard compulsary. I think the new Activa looks good without the guards

  
  




• Comfort: Wider and comfortable seat. you dont get tired riding for long time.

  
  




• Drive quality: good acceleration. Though I cannot put it in figures  but easy to pull when signal turns Green;-). Engine is responsive.

  
  

Comfortable at speed of 70 Kmph doesnt shake(engine is 10 cc powerful so making the Activa heavier than older version. I have touched 80Kmph on my Activa but not recommended.

• Mileage: I am getting a good mileage of 48-50 Kmpl if driven between 50-55Kmph. If you drag it to 70Kmph the milege drops to 45Kmpl

  
  




• Fuel tank capacity - 5.3 ltrs. I felt it should be bit more.

  
  




• Boot space is good. Can hold my helmet, toolkit and some other things.

  
  




• Good & clear headlights & Indicators. Riding is dark is safe.

  
  




• Ok Suspension. Sometimes you feel bumby ride. I think this will be same for all scooters due to small tyres.

  
  




• Coming to Dealer SaiPoint - I have been provided satisfactory service and I am happy with it.
