Purchased new Honda Activa scooter at Silicon Honda, Bangalore.
From day one the scooter is giving problems.
I suggest new Hond Activa buyers to know the following problems and decide the purchase:
Poor Mileage - Beware the ad says 15% increase, it is an eyewash, it hardly gives 35-38 KMPL.
Poor electrical wiring - All the electrical parts i.e Self start, head light, indicator light, horns will start malfunctioning or will not function when the vehicle is exposed in rain.
Unreliable battery- The battery is fitted in most inconvenient position(i.e front), due to jumping the electrolyte starts leaking and the metal parts start corroding(company knows this problem very well).
Night driving in Honda Activa for ladies is very risky- due to faulty head lights, faulty self start, ladies will find very risky in starting and riding the vehicle. My wife is cursing for the purchase.
Poor Service - The service supervisor clearly admits that, since the battery is mounted in front, the vehicle user has to bear the problems like, non functioning of head lights, leaking of electrolyte, failure of self start, etc., . Ther service people cannot rectify the electrical problem. The simply wash the vehicle very neat and change engine oil, collect the service bill amount and leave the electrical problem to the customer. They are only worried about the number of vehicles they service and how to reach the day's target and not able to give solutions.
