I booked the all new Honda Activa on 5/6/09 and finally got it on 30/6/09(it was such a long wait - the dealers said that the booking time was 15 days but it was more actually). I have bought the vehicle just for local rides and going to coachings, etc..
It's really very smooth to ride the all new Activa but is a little bit heavy due to the metal body. What I dislike is that the balancing - while turning - it gets disturbed a little, but although it is normally very much balanced. The shockers are really very nice that contributes to a very smooth riding. After you get used to driving, there won't be any problem...
Those who have extremely short height should not buy this vehicle as it will be little bit difficult to handle although a test drive is always an option. The headlight beam is very strong and indicators are well. The new ignition area looks great. As said by Honda that the underseat storage is more but it is actually quite less for normal usage. I have seen ads that people keeping all fruits & vegetables underseat but it is actually not possible to do so because the design is awkward there.
It's just suitable for a full face helmet and a few others small things. Colors are very limited. I have bought the red one and it looks really great. A very vibrant color. The first time you start the engine in the morning, you have to use choke. What you need to do is to pull the choke completely and keep it pulled for atleast 10 seconds. Then it starts on the first trail itself(either Self or Kick).
Once the engine heats up, then it runs smooth and you need not to use choke again although if you keep it idle for more than 5-6 hours, it needs to be used. The vehicle's really very powerful. Very nice pickup. It's mileage advantage is the best feature I like. I have run 90+ kms now but the fuel indicator is still more than 4.5(initially fuel filled - 5.3 lit). The braking system is also very powerful. Do not press the brakes very tightly is you want to stop suddenly as the vehicle would skid. Always use both the brakes while stopping completely.
Now some of my experiences with the Haridwar Dealer 'Amrit Auto': Those executives sitting there are really very rude. The first time you visit the showroom, they respect you, eagerly tell you everything, but after you book, they forget everything.
They said that the booking time was 15 days but it took 27 days at last. So, I called them 2 times in between. When the vehicle had arrived, they immediately called us. I was very happy. But I could not draw more than 40, 000 so I told them that I would come the next day. One of the executives threatened me that they sell the vehicle to the next customer if I don't come early! So the next day I went in the noon itself. And there I had to wait for 3-4 hours for the vehicle to be set up with all the accessories! OK, now enough.
But it's not only me. They also behaved in the same way with other customers as well. My father saw a customer been refused by the dealer! They are really very rude. They forget everything after you buy the vehicle! But overall the showroom is outstanding!
