I am 45 years old. In my life, I have purchased a total of 15 Kinetic scooters and motorcycles (Kinetic Honda, Kinetic Marvel, then Y2Kinetic and then Kinetic Zoom, then Kinetic Boss). However, I thought that Honda with its aura of Japanese technology will be a superior product to Indian make. So instead of continuing with my loyalty to Kinetic, I decided to buy a Honda Activa. YOu may wonder why I buy so many two wheelers. I am living in a joint family, comprising 28 members and as head of the family I make all major purchasing decisions.

Anyway, coming back to my experience with Activa, it has quickly proved to be a big mistake. First of all the mileage of the scooter is extremely poor. It starts off at 40 kmpl or so and then sharply goes down to about 20-25. in these days of rising fuel costs, I am not interested in wasting so much money of petrol! Secondly, the Activa has inferior pick up and power, it is quite sluggish compared to other scooters (try Kinetic Zoom, it is amazing). The braking is poor. Most irritatingly however, the bike begins to wobble like mad at speeds over 35 kmph. It is downright dangerous. Also it is a pain to have to putter around at low speeds. And I am too scared to let anyone else (my children etc) ride it for fear of accident. As it is, my wife does not like it because the seat height is too high and her feet cannot reach the ground at traffic signals. Also, the seats are too small for comfort when two people are sitting. The storage space is inadequate with no glove box as standard.

But the worst of all is the starting trouble. The stupid scooter doesnt start half the time. You have no idea how frustrating it is when you are trying to get going, and the vehilce just will not start.

The dealer has no idea how to repair any problem. he is only interested in milking the Honda brand.
