Honda Activa as it's brand name precedes the reputation, is definitely a very good scooter to have, if you are planning to keep it running for 10 years. But there is a contender to this brand with the same brand name but relatively different than the previous.
Look wise Activa 3G is better than Activa 125.
It is also lighter than Activa 125.
Even though it has 109cc, it's pickup is better than 125cc counter part.
Very sooth compared to Activa 125 in engine noise and vibration.
Unlike Activa 125, it's rear suspension is harder than Activa 125 and can carry a 85kg 2nd passenger smoothly. Activa 125 rear suspension can not take 2nd passenger beyond 60kg. You will feel as if there is no rear suspension at all for heavy 2nd passenger. For Activa 3g it is not a problem.
Front suspension of 3G is not telescopic, so it lacks the braking power compared to 125.
Riding quality is very good and comfortable.
Component furbishing are little plastique.
Very very reliable scooter and fits the need of a small family.
Fuel economy is 35-42 in city and 45-50 on highway, which is not the same as the company advertise.
You can go up to 85-87km/hour top speed on highway.
No cornering issues with high speed.
Not recommended for anyone with height 5.5 or less because it is taller than any other scooter in the same segment.
Battery issue is there, if not used for 1 to 2 weeks in winter.
It lags in look segment compared to other companies scooter in same technical segment.
Low quality mirrors and they tend to loosen up very quickly.
Brake livers shades color very quickly.
For a smooth ride do not use handle cover.
Plenty of boot space and under seat space.
Indicator switch wears off or gets jammed if you keep the scooter under rain. Does not come with a indicator buzzer. You have to put it separately.
Overall this vehicle is a very reliable one and can continue for 6-8 years with very less maintenance. Gives same performance like Activa 125 but comes with a very less price compared to Activa 125.
