Hi Friends,
I am a Database administrator in an IT company. I have a car but to due to heavy city traffic condition I want to shift to gearless scooter. So started R & D from last one month and test ride near about every scooter present in the market.
Believe me Indian scooter market is flooded with third class(crap) scooters except below two.
1. Honda Activa 3G(looks better in White & Silver color)
2. TVS Zest 110(looks better in White & new launched Silver color)
Finally I brought Activa 3G white color. What a hot chic it is? I am in love with it.
The selection is pretty simple if you are above 5'7", weight more than 60 kg and have 5000 bucks more to spend then go for Activa 3G and if not then simply go for Zest 110.
Who needs a front telescopic suspension in Activa 3G it’s working fine and who needs metal body for Zest 110 its body feels rock solid ABS panels. Please keep in mind all scooters are designed to drive on City good road condition.
Both these scooters are awesome no back pain, butter smooth engine, large storage, adequate engine power, good low end torque, good power to weight ratio, no nonsense design and features, good leg space. Though I have found below drawbacks in it but they can be negligible:
Honda Activa 3G: Quiet heavy.
TVS Zest 110: TVS image in mind.
And found below are major drawbacks in leading scooters: [ Please note that though some scooters share same engine as e.g. Activa3G /Activa i/ Dio and Zest110 /Wego / Jupiter but keep in mind all engines are tuned to different settings and body shape is also considered. ] Below drawbacks based on my own test ride experiences and horror stories from friends and Internet reviews as well.
1. Dio: Absolutely disaster for pillion rider as he Suffers with lot of back pain issue, headlight design fault: Head light beam goes straight while we take a turn in night. Four wheeler have two headlights so this problems don’t come for them.
2. Activa i: Absolutely low leg space and delicate fiber body. Zest feels sturdier though it too has fiber body.
3. Aviator: Wrong Design fault, less mileage, expensive, horrible back pain issue for both.(Don't get fooled by its front telescopic suspension).
4. Activa 125: less mileage, expensive.
5. Maestro: Horrible engine, less mileage, wrong design fault, absolutely no pickup at all.(Don’t get fooled by its technical specifications and charming Ranbir kapoor look).
6. Pleasure: Dangerously skidding issue, Horrible and underpowered engine, less mileage(Don’t get fooled by pretty Alia Bhatt look).
7. Wego: expensive, absolutely disasters for pillion rider as he suffers with lot of back pain issue, horrible engine, less mileage.
8. Jupiter: expensive, bouncy ride, less mileage.
9. Pep+: expensive, Horrible and underpowered engine, dangerously skidding issue.
10. Streak: expensive, Horrible and underpowered engine, dangerously skidding issue.
11. Lets: low under seat storage, low refinement engine sounds like Mahindra tractor.
12. Access 125: Absolutely faulty horrible engine, expensive, dangerously skidding issue due to small tyres, mileage same as of WagonR.
13. Swish: Absolutely faulty horrible engine, expensive, dangerously skidding issue due to small tyres, mileage same as of WagonR.
14. Ray and Rayz: underpowered engine, Absolutely disaster for pillion rider as he Suffers with lot of back pain issue, headlight design fault: Head light beam goes straight while we take a turn in night. Four wheeler have two headlights so this problem don’t come for them.
15. Alpha, Fascino: underpowered engine, expensive.
16. Mahindra Duro, Rodeo, Rodeo RZ, Sym Flite, Kine, and Gusto: I have no words for them. Simply Disaster recipes: heavy, horrible engines, less mileage. These are Chinese plastic toys. If you want to see fools see them on these scooters. The biggest one is on Gusto trying to overtake rickshaw with more than 120 kg kerbweight scooter. he. he. he. One word: Absolutely crap.
17. Vespa, vespa s, vespa elagante, and vespa vx: Again you want to see fools then watch them on these scooters but this time they are Rich. I have no words for them. Simply Disaster recipes: heavy, horrible engines, less mileage. Please don't get fooled with these Italian expired toys. One word: Absolutely crap.
The moral of the review: Please don't waste your hard earned/ ancestral money on these above craps. Simply go for these workhorses:
1. Honda Activa 3G(looks better in white & Silver color)
2. TVS Zest 110 (looks better in white & Silver color)
And enjoy every km of your journey.
For enthusiasts: This is not paid or fake review and I am not ambassador of any scooter company. Just want to help my friends who are confused to buy scooter nothing else.
Last words: Don’t waste your valuable time in reading other reviews and test rides since I already wasted one month. Just go straight away and buy any of those two scooters, you don’t get better deal than this.
