Hi All, Honda Activa 3G is groun shaking! yes it shakes/ jerks as if there is an earthquake on the highway. I have bought a Activa 3G six months ago for city riding since it is Autogear, I was using Bajaj Avenger and Activa is more convenient than a bike since it has more storage space as well and let me also tell you Activa 3G is no dream anymore. It is only the asthetical beautification and nothing else is special in it. There has been no technical advancements been done in 3G, only the body styling, tail lamp change which is now a single unit and more expensive than the older version & a 3D badge on the side.
The bike was okay with it's decent performance except for the horrible suspension setup. The vehicle started annoying me with the jerk it gives while acceleration. Trust me guys Activa seems to be prone to it. I have complained it in the service as well to the authorized service center Ramanthapur, Hyderabad however they are incapable to resolve the same. As usual all the so called authorized service centers have incapable people except for one senior mechanic and the rest to ruin the show. They inspite of fixing the issue have worsened it, and also have developed scratches on the clutch cover.
Activa as told by several mechanics has the clutch issue and they claim it is a manufacturing flaw, the vehicle starts vibrating and gives terrible jerks while initial acceleration and it is such annoying and dangerous especially at the signals when you about to leave on green considering the fact that lot of females ride it. Please be aware of it!
Activa 3G is prone to these jerks and confirmed by a lot of mechanics that there is a falw in clutch system and needs periodical repairs apart from the general services needed for the vehicle hence be aware of the same. However I sometimes feel there are better contenders in the same segment like Jupiter, Pleasure, Access, I could have chosen Suzuki Access in the same segment which is slightly powerful than the Activa and has a better suspension(telescopic suspension) in the front. Hope my feedback helps you to avoid inconveniences faced by me.
