My first time online furniture buying . Review on Hometown

To tell you quite honestly, even I feel a bit apprehensive about giving full ratings to a site for fear of having my review marked as fake (lol), but truthfully my first and only experience with Fabfurnish was really good so I don't have much else to say.

I bought a coffee/center table from Elmwood brand, it's a mix of sheesham and acacia wood and dark mahogany polish with four drawers. Order number: 200177448 20th Oct, 13 Elmwood Finland Coffee Table Rs. 10, 990 Delivered

Price:

Okay. Here comes the bummer. If you're going to shop furniture online from a trusted source, be willing to shell out more. This market is not very developed yet hence choice of sellers is limited. I bought the table for 10, 000 after 20% discount, and paid additional 500 INR for shipping. I know I could have got this directly from furniture market between 5-7000 INR, but okay, I'm not going to be very picky about prices because I'm looking for comfort of shopping furniture at home here.

Shipping:

The table was shipped to me by next day (at night), probably because their showroom is also not far away. So for me shipping was very fast, but I can't vouch for other locations. Someone came to "assemble" the table next day, even though it was pre-assembled. So they opened the package for us and placed the table where it needed to be, since it's quite heavy.

Support:

Most furniture at Fabfurnish comes with warranty against defects. I realized upon inspection there were two small marks against the edge of the table which seemed like it had maybe rubbed off somewhere and the polish had come off. I call Fabfurnish and they immediately registered my complaint and sent carpenter to repair the said area next day. They repaired the polish and also added another coat of polish to the entire top for shine, so I was happy with the result.

Packaging:

At least to me, the packaging looked well done and sufficient. The table was packed inside a heavy ply thick cardboard box, wrapped with bubble wrap and the sides were filled with thermocol sheets and beans so, personally, I think it's enough measure against avoiding shipping damage.

Collections and availability:

Well here's the low point. Fabfurnish has very limited designs and availability. Some furniture might just be one or two pieces, so designs go out of stock fast and take a lot of time to restock, if ever. Moreover, most of their affordable collection features particle board furniture which I shy away from like a plague, no matter how well made, you know board will never fill in for the look and quality of real wood. They definitely need to work more on their inventory and give buyers more choice.

non-furniture:

I've not bought anything non-furniture from Fabfurnish yet but I love their home decor, kitchen utilities, glassware etc collection. It's very modern, stylish and classy looking so I do plan to buy some things in future.

I can't vouch for site as a whole, but this sums up my first experience with them, which exceeded my expectation as I was very scared to buy something bulky and expensive like a furniture online. Hopefully the pleasant experience will continue in future.
