I recently bought a K-Touch 3.5inch(8.89cms) Dual Sim Phone M-100-White from HomeShop 18. It was not a costly phone. The price was just Rs 1, 999.
Actually, I ordered the phone for my wife after seeing it in a HomeShop 18 advertisement on TV. The two anchors(both male and female) in the advertisement made such a compelling review about the benefits of that particular phone(WhatsApp, Facebook, good quality camera for image and video etc) which was being given away at a throwaway price that I was literally brainwashed into buying it.
The phone was actually a phone but with a long bucket list of issues. First, the touch screen won't response until you swipe atleast 5-6 times.
The only thing you could do with the phone was to make calls but there was no clarity. The voice would echo and all you hear was your own frustrated voice. It was a quite a task writing a message on the touch screen keyboard which lagged most of the time. Surprisingly was able to download WhatsApp but there was no provision of uploading your display picture. The less said about the other features the better. In other words, the cell phone was no better than a child's toy.
The precious lesson I learnt was don't buy products which are given at an unbelievable low price. You have yourself to blame for the impending loss. Yes, HomeShop can sell quality items instead of cheap and inferior products which only harm their reputation.
