I have bought a wall unit (Atlanta) from Hometown, The Great India Place, NOIDA, on 1st of May 2010. I was very happy that I have bought a good piece of furniture from one of the most reputed stores in India, but I was not aware that I was falling in to a trap which will be very painful for me. I have made the payment of Rs. 8999/- upfront using my credit card and I have been informed by Hometown sales person that the unit is running out of stock and it can only be delivered by 26th of May. After some argument I have accepted this delay, and was hoping it will be delivered to me on the mentioned date, but to my dismay on 25th may I get a call from Hometown call center that the delivery is further delayed till 5th of June.
I was shocked by the inefficiency of the Hometown as It was almost a months period which they have taken to deliver a small wall unit. When I complained on this I was asked to speak to Manager for furniture store and he said that he is extremely sorry for the delay and he is willing to compensate this by providing me extra discount offer and he will try to provide the wall unit ASAP. I have taken his word on this, but instead of compensating me they have again shown lack of professionalism by sending the wall unit on 29th of may. The delivery men told that their will be someone from installation team will be coming soon(later in the day) and will fixing the wall unit but again adding agony to the injury nobody came for the whole day and the wall unit is lying in my living rooms floor.
I was not expecting this kind of unprofessional service from such a big brand name.
