Last month I ordered a Bunk Bed. Why I went through Home Town is because they were taking back my Old furniture. There are lots of cons in this scheme (which you may not realise.... will get back to that)
I had glanced through many children bunk beds which were in display. Good thing about Home Town is that they have many variants and displays which you can judge and if wanted get a idea and buy from outside. So not necessary that you need to buy there. Reason why I am telling is that if you purchase some product from Home Town, like say sofa or some furniture, it takes around 15 days to get to your home. Why because they are just a dealer, they take orders, give it to some other agents and those agents of Home Town delivers the same.
Now talking about Pros.
I liked the bunk bed, though it costed me more, but idea of getting 25% off for my old bed made me more tempting because the bed which I had was pretty old and was on damaged state. So I didn't mind an exchange for the same. WORD OF CAUTION for people who think you can get a good deal for buy back scheme through Home Town. Here is their deal
Suppose you want to sell your bed, they give you a coupon of Rs. 10000/-. Dont get tempted on seeing this offer, YOU NEED TO BUY ITEMS 4 TIMES of the COST to get 10000/- discount on that. So you need to purchase item of 40000/- and you will get the same at 30000/-. If you dont want to buy 40000/- worth, suppose you want to purchase product say fro 20000/-, you get 25% off, so you get 6000/- rupees off on 20000/- and rest 4000/- coupon you have to again purchase items 4 times of that, very confusing right. Thats what I felt. But in my case even 6000/- off was a good deal. So think again if your item is too good, you will look duped by them.
About the buying experience
So 6000/- off for me on original priced Bunk Bed. So deal was for 16000/-. They had given date of delivery 15 days from my purchase date. To take back the old furniture they gave me 12 days from date of purchase. So I waited patiently for 12 days and finally someone came took back my old furniture and after 2 days someone dumped the new furniture (only planks) and they said within 48 hours they would send someone to fit. After a day when nobody came, I had to call them. Fortunately for me Customer Support was well updated if you give your Bill No. and said they would send the same day. And Finally someone came and fitted. Fitting done was good and for the first time that guy didn't ask for Chai Paani. So that made me more happy.
So all in all, I had a good experience with Home Town. Yes took time to deliver but end product and the waiting period is worth the watch. So people who are impatient and in look out for quick deal, just glance through the products from Home Town and just buy it from other shop.
