I was really excited to know that Home Delivery was releasing in Dubai.

'' after a long time not an out and out commercial film is releasing in Dubai'' I thought to myself.

The film release day is Wednesday here, so I actually watched the film before it got released in India.

I was highly impressed seeing the first scene of the children practicing 'choir like' and watching Shenaz Patel as the teacher. I got goose bumps with the anticipation that a damn good film lay ahead. 45 min after that moment, I had resigned to the fact that this movie is a blooper of the year.

The film practically moves like a man drunk on cheap alcohol... its almost like one is hallucinating... there is no pattern or logic to how the story moves.

So, Sunny Chopra is Gyan Guru... now tell me??? in todays urbanscape world, every mag and newspaper is full of agony coloumns, since when did agony coloumns become the main reason why a particular newpaper sold. I think RK Laxman should start writing agony uncle coloumns.

Sunny is supposed to be this smart alec guy who is writing the script for Karan Johar and a compulsive bunker at work. He is quite an assole in many ways, he smart talks the pizza delivery guy into convincing him that the pizza got late, he exhanges shirts in shops after having worn them to a party, he shudders by the fact of getting married and doesnt believe in GOD . One fine evening he gets called to a TV show where he meets his teenage heartrob heroin... she acts coy with him thinking he can get her a role in the film for which he is writing the script. He cant believe that he may be able to potentially bed the very heroin he had the hots for in childhood.

He has two repulsive neighbours and a sweet patient girlfriend and dislikes Diwali for no valid reason. Finally his luck runs out ... the sexy siren goes to his neighbour , his girl friend walks out on him, the newspaper sacks him and the nice pizza delivery uncle goofs up while explainin the script to Johar. Finally like a good child he prays to god to set everything right and pronto.. things begin falling in place.

I wonder what point was Sujoy Ghosh wanting to make via Home Delivery? The list of top quality cast ( except for Viviek Anand Oberoi....huh!!!) and crew have been wasted.

This film proves that even a name change cannot reverse Jr.Oberoi's carreer. ( One question.. isnt his dad's name Suresh???? then who is Anand in Viveik 'Anand' Oberoi). Boman Irani never dissapoints, he has breathed life into the character of a simple 'born loser' catholic uncle. Ayesha Takia does justice... she has given a very controlled performance in a role which doesnt demand much of acting provess, Saurabh shukla and Tiku Talsania are disgusting. Arif Zakaria... poor guy what has he done to deserve his role.... can anybody tell me what the serial killer bit was all about??? Victor Banerjee...his role can be well bunched with the plethora of guest appearences made by established stars.

The music also dissapoints. I know Vishal Dadlani and Sujoy Ghosh are friends from Bandra.. but vishal obviously is raking the moolah from films like DUS and has moved a long way from ''Jhankar Beats'.. the effort lacks sincerity. Comic moments lack wit. All in all the film leaves one dissapointed and exhausted.

Dont even think of even getting a DVD and watchin it at home.

cheer up :)
