Be Aware! This is warning for you all. I had really rotten experience when I hired their Cab service for 5 days trip to Munnar, Thekkady and Alleppy.
To start with the driver was rude… we asked him to stop the car for lunch but he insisted us to drive till Munnar from Kochi which is 4 hours drive and have lunch there. We wanted to buy nausea tablet from a medicine store as my relative was not feeling well after his rash driving on the hills. We asked the driver to stop over to a medicine shop. He said he will only stop at Munnar … He behaves as if he is giving us a free service. However, we forced him to stop at the medical store and got our medicine.
Tour owner told us that the driver will be our guide as well. But to my experience I had never came across such driver and guide. He started arguing and misguided us in many situations. Instead of having our specific sightseeing points which we got from Kerala Tourism department, he was more willing to show us the points which were not up to the mark and costly too. The driver totally misguided us and due to that we missed the opportunity to see some of the good tourist spot of Kerala.
He told us there will a long queue in front of National Park and it will take 2 hours to get the ticket.So it's not worth going there. There was no crowd when we reached there, we got our ticket within few minutes. In another occasion he told us there will be no water in the Periyar Lake . However, the lake was full of water and we had very nice cruise in the lake. He only stops in front of the handicrafts shop where he can manage his commission. These are just few examples … but there are at least 10 such occasions like this.
When we opposed to his behavior, he shouted at us saying Dadagiri is not allowed here .The owner didn’t pay the driver for buying any fuel for the car. That’s what he claimed and extorted money from us in the gas stations. He threatened us in Alleppy that he will leave us there until we pay him money towards the parking and food. As per our contract everything was included with the package(Driver Bata+ Parking+Toll). It’s really a bitter experience we had.
Lession Learnt: Never ever do the mistake of paying upfront for the whole package . instead pay on daily basis for the quality of the service you receive.
