Yea! I mean it. this baby has all the looks of an american muscle car!. I have a 2002 Contessa Classic. Its new engine does the job pretty well. The reason I love this car so much is because of its stability. Yes when you go for a real stable car on the road, forget about the mileage. And I dont take my baby out to the town because in bangalore, you cant even ride a bike properly. the traffic. Its hell in Bangalore during peak hours and I suppose no other city in India is in such a pathetic state.
The only time I take this car out is for my trip home which is 800Km down south from Bangalore, which is in Kerala. Yes my car has the number of the beast, thats is 666. But I dont mind that, cos thats just a number. See I have drove a lot of cars of different sizes and shapes, but the kind of pleasure that you get from this car is ultimate, thanks to its world class suspension system, thats a class apart.
What I have done in this car is the next thing thats going to help you think, ''boy, this car is gonna be mine. And I am sorry that I couldnt add a picture of my car, cos my camera got *ed recently. Ok back to business. First thing I have done is I have changed the tyres to its upsize thats 215/60-R-15, second this is I have put a nice set of alloys for this that does not look modern at all. Because modern alloys look sleek. but I didnt want to give it a sleek look because that will never blend with Contessa's bold look n feel, so what I did was I seaeched for one that give it the look of a Dodge challenger, and yes!! I found one from Coimbatore. The next thing I did was, I wanted to keep the old and classic looking dashboard just as the way it is, so didnt do much to it, but I changed the upholstery to a jet black leather one. Now all I wanted was an entertainment system in the car, so I got the latest on from Sony called the Sony xPlod!!, boy its amazing to listen to a good sounding one on a big car!. since me being a solid hard rock and heavy metal fan, I wanted to go for a real good head unit that can play all the stuff I got. So I got the Sony CDX M7810 head unit. I did it very recently and I dont know whether the head unit mentioned above has been released in India, cos I got this from my brother who came down from Germany. and the next thing I wanted to do is to stuff in a good amp as well as a monoblock amp, so for this I thought I will again go for the Sony xPlod. so I put the latest D6000GTX amp from sony again. and put the latest subwoofer and the speakers for that, and since I was not a treble freak, I didnt want to go for the tweeters. The last thing I changed was the steering wheel. Because the contessa steering wheel sks, not because it is not controlable, because it looks really bad on such a good car. so I changed it to another one that has the looks of the old american muscle cars. I also did some work on the exhaust, so that it gives a good note and yes!! it gives me all the noise I want to make down the road, not the ones that go with the new age cars like the all time great Mitsubishi Lancer but one which gives me the noise of an old muscle car. Well by doing all these mods I have almost spent 2 lacs and above, but who cares, these things a re made to enjoy, and to make it more enjoyable, you gotta spend money on it. Now my baby rests in my garage next to a blue 1986 Yamaha RX 100, waiting for the next run and I rest in my room waiting for my next salary. Hope you guys enjoyed reading my review.
