I tried Himalaya's Ayurvedic Concepts Gentle Face Wash Gel (Later renamed Himalaya Gentle Face Wash Gel) quite a few years back probably because of my trust in the harmlessness of herbal products. Out of cream and gel variants I chose the latter because I had oily skin and it was made for that skin type only.
I have never had to look beyond it so far and I am not feeling the need to. The experience has been wonderful. Remember, oily skin is the most obnoxious to maintain, but this product handles it with care and is absolutely effective at that. It gives the skin a clean and glowing feel. If facewashing can be called skin care (I think it's basic hygiene) this is the only one that I follow. My friends have asked whether I do facials. While I am among the last people on earth to do that, I felt how effectively Himalaya Gentle Face Wash Gel has worked for me.
It has Citron which is an astringent and cooling agent and honey which has natural deep cleansing properties. It cleanses the excess oil from the skin besides deep cleansing it.
Now let me tell you it's most critical feature, which even the co. doesn't mention for some unknown reasons. If you look at the product (Available in a transparent tube) you will see a lot of blue granules all across. I often wondered what they do. One of my ex-colleagues was from Himalayas, the maker of the product. When I asked him he told me that the blue granules are there to effectively remove black heads (I am sure white heads too). I never had much of black heads, but many people with oily skin do have. I rightaway understood how the gel manages to make the skin so clean. Indeed, I would say, the 'blue granules' is the unique buying proposition for me, so what the co. doesn't say it's their USP (Unique selling proposition).
Price wise it is absolutely reasonable. One 60 gm tube costs Rs 30. Just two drops are enough.
One special tip: Keep looking for the 25% free offer that it comes up with time to time. You may choose to buy two packs at those periods.
I strongly recommend all of you with oily skin to try it. It might even suit those with normal skin.
