Directors seem to think that macho men and babies mix well. No no, thats not a typo. I meant babies and not BABES. What else explains movies like "Three men and a Baby" staring typical mens' men like Tom Selleck and Steve Guttenberg or Arnold's Kindergarden cop or Junior.
The movie in question is an'indianised' retelling of Three Men and a Baby. Or my friend would say - Sajid Khan has'Bappi Lahari-ed' Three Men and a baby.
Well, the story is as old as the hills. Three bachelors paint the town red with the one-night stands and leave a long line of rejected women in their path.
One morning they wake up to find a young infant abandoned at their doorstep. Whose child is this? Why has the mother dumped her child this way? What will these wastrels do with this child? All these questions are answered - not entirely convincingly during the course of this movie. Ofcourse, you have to step your way through three nappy loads of baby poo(with ritesh using one for Olympic discus practice), 7 tins of Cerelac, 3 puncture nipples and enough toilet humour to er. fill a SJ Surya Tamil movie.
Firstly the good bits
1) The second cutest baby in Bollywood(the one in jaaneman comes up tops). Infact on seeing how cute she was, I was sure that she was not the child of any of the three heroes. No need for any DNA testing there:-)
2) All the scenes where the men struggle to feed the baby brought back memories of the few times I have done the same with my daughter. Future bachelors, have a look at these scenes. If nothing else, it will inspire you to use ermmm . certain'protective' devices regularly.
3) Akshay Kumar and Ritesh Deshmukh are great comedians. Ritesh seems to only act in multi-starrers though
And now the odd ones
1) Fardeen Khan has to take up some good acting course soon. He seems perpetually lost and is repeating the same one or two emotions that he picked up during the shooting of his earlier comedies.
2) Vidya Balan looks enchanting in certain scenes and in the others both her acting and her makeup let her down really bad. A bad day out for this beautiful actress
Inspite of all this, me and my friends liked most parts of the movie. Infact while watching some scenes we were seriously cracked up. So, go ahead, gather your friends and have some masti. Its only worth a one night stand. So haan, bother for the feeding bottle and baby food mix.
