Yup, I definitely am in a romantic mood. Damn, even Jon Stock (The one who writes the last page in the week) seems to be discussing it. Sometimes you forgive the rains its audacity at drenching you. There also comes a time when you look forward to just holding hands and watching a movie. Yeah, that’s what I did this time.

Heyy Baby, looks a remake of the French classic three men and a baby with generous twists. Of course, it is nothing like the original, but then, you see a few rotten and a few good actors on screen. You must know the story by now, if not (as Diver says)dive below

Three casanovas (whatever)  staying together find an abandoned baby on their doorstep. They try abandoning the baby at first, but get attached to the baby due to nature’s outburst. The baby’s mom comes back to stake claim to the baby. How the three men get the baby back is the rest of the story. (There. Three hours of screen time in three lines)

I would have preferred watching Chak De if I knew in advance that my wife would let out a whistle/shout when Shahrukh makes his guest appearance. For her, that was the only redeeming part of the movie. And looking at the total screen time of Shahrukh in the movie (1 min) you can guess how outstanding the movie must be.

The only acting and notable screen time is of Akshay Kumar and I guess he is taking the beaten path to comedy. (Sanjay Dutt?) I like the sound of a heh heh rather than a dishum dishum. The other two Fardeen and Ritiesh fail to make any impact. Divya doesn’t look her best and just hams her way through the movie. Boman Irani was good, but had very few liners to his credit.

Recommendation ? Watch it for the trailers. I definitely am in a good mood and so I shall pass my reservations without being judgmental. You watch it at your own risk. Fortune favors the risk takers. Who knows, you might meet your gal/boy at the theater. ;-|

Shiver me timbers’ this review was forced in part due to my pardner envyram’s hurry to the 100... so bear with me. while I post my next...
