I was introduced to Hershey's Kisses way back in 1995, during my initial days in a multinational organization. I clearly remember the day we received a mail with a subject ''hugs and kisses'' and the matter was something like Rush in for hugs and kisses! Limited stock.

Myself, and a few teammates (who had joined the company with me) were surprised to see such a mail and even more surprised to see most of the colleagues rushing for the ''hugs and kisses''. We decided to check it out, from a distance. Thankfully we went closer and discovered the secret of the ''hugs and kisses'' which the guy was supplying. They were something which I relished ever since!

Hershey's Kisses chocolates were first introduced in 1907. While the shape and configuration of Hershey's Kisses have not changed, there were a few variations. In 1990, there was a major addition to the Hershey's Kisses franchise when Hershey's Kisses With Almonds were successfully introduced. In 1993, Hershey introduced Hershey's Hugs chocolates, mini Hershey's Kisses hugged by white chocolate, and Hershey's Hugs With Almonds.

Hershey's Kisses were wrapped in colored foil (other than silver) for the first time in 1962. Red, green and silver Hershey's Kisses were available during the Christmas season in addition to the year round silver wrapped ones.

Do you know, there is a town named Hershey? Tucked in the hills of Central Pennsylvania, is the town of Hershey. Apparently, here the street lights are shaped like the Hershey's Kisses chocolates and the air is filled with the same wonderful aroma. Tempting isn't it? NO, I have not visited this place, but if I visit the US again, I will surely make it a point to visit this place.

I love the Hershey's in all its forms--chocolates, syrups anything. Yes, we get them in India too (these days you get anything here), but as my husband says check it to see if it has a micro print somewhere that says ''Made in China''.
