Review
Madhur again tried to make and show something REAL, and this time he tries to show a HEROINE's personal/professional life, ups and down in her career & life. Talking about Kareena's performance, she outplays in almost every scene made by Madhur, I would say one of the very best performances of Kareena in her career, by doing this film she actually shows how good she has become in these years of her in industry, with or without glamours roles. The only issue with the film is some of the characters, like for example a gay designer, i mean that's too much, for god sake not every gay is like that, rest of the other stereotype characters played good in almost every scene, reporters have a bitchy aura and always sport funky jewellery, cigarettes and alcohol, bad people sleep around etc. Except the few lead characters, everyone else is as good. The 180 mins movie gets repetitive with Mahi’s heartbreaks, psychic and love doing scenes repeatedly. Where-as the best part is that Madhur showed the different phases or problems a heroine sees in her life.
Story
Mahi Arora Star Actress (same as Bipasha in Raaz 3), everybody wants to work with her, but here, she falls in love with a star actor Aryan Khanna, who is working on to divorce her wife with a kid, though Aryan tells her that he is not ready for commitment and even refuses to acknowledge their relationship in public, life becomes more difficult for her as she suffers from bipolar disorder (biopolar).
Mahi then goes to a psychiatrist and tries to get over with the biopolar situation, but at the same time she gets to meet Aryans' wife at a party and with a fight with her, Aryan leaves her, actually dumps her right there.
Mahi starts losing her self-confidence, stardom, offers of films, endorsements and off-cos name in industry. She then get to meet a PR Lady (Divya Dutta) who then plans her career schedules, how and when to do what , its is just then she meets cricketer Angad and tries to get work through him too, in the industry, but somehow even after getting a big film, her performance and role cuts her confidence more.
She again tries to get to work for a Different Cinema film where a very perfect character played by Ranvir Shorey as a bengali director, life is'nt on her way, she again got a shocker and the film shelves in middle and Mahi again on nowhere situation, there comes re-entry of Aryan in her life and work seems to get on again as Aryan plans a 150 crore film with her, situation again takes a U turn and that film somehow shelves too, irritated with life worse phase, lost stardom, failures in life personal and professional, she becomes a lot desperate for stardom that she uses a cheap publicity stunt (leaks her love making scenes with aryan) to make her low budget movie a hit.
Looking at all good bad times and understanding that therez no friend here in industry, it only comes when you are star or have a hit in hand, she leaves all and goes to SOMEWHERE IN EUROPE and as someone ask her ARE YOU MAHI ARORA, She says NO.
Performances
After Vidya in dirty Picture, Priyanka in Fashion, Kareena in Heroine outplays her bipolar character as actress Mahi. You would love to see her crying , smiling , doing intense scenes and some of the very best dialogues, as much as you would like to appreciate her ability to showcase the mood swings(bipolar) behind the camera, Arjun Rampal is OKay, Randeep too got alil better work, though still needs good work and better dialogues with alil long work on screen, though Divya Dutta does very well in her different role as the PR agent. Shahana Goswami and Ranvir Shorey looks very good in their small roles, so as Helen Ji along with some TV stars.
Verdict
Kareena Kapoor does a good job and, lolz you will even see her in alil pseudo lesbian scene too :-) with some of her steamy scenes. If that’s enough there's ample cleavage and partaken in some really intimate bedroom scenes that might drag you to see Heroine.
Heroine is Kareena's Different Dirty Picture. The actress has shown her caliber. Definitely watch it !
