Don't be carried away/cheated....... Review on Hero Ultra Velocity

Don't be carried away by the advertisements of ULTRA MOTORS ..I have purchased ultra velocity e. scooter in February 2008. After 14moths of using this scooter I am sharing my experience.

This is a small scooter with 500 wats motor and suitable commuting between office and house.The max speed you can drive is 45kmph. The scooter is suitable only for the people in small towns, where the roads are good, and the travel is limited to 40to50km max and where there is no power cut. The scooter was good and I was using happily for

six moths and I have covered 7000km, THEN STARTED MY PROBLEM and it showed the true colors. one find day the scooter was not starting, I have called the dealer. The technician came and informed that THE BATTERY IS DEAD and I have to change the battery.

Initially the company claimed that the life of the battery is 350 charging cycles(means each charging of the battery gives 50km of operation. so 350 cycles means 350x50=17, 500km). so when I went to the and asked theyshowed me the warranty card and told that WARRANTY FOR BATTERY IS LIMITED TO 6000KM/6 MONTHS. so they advised me to change the battery which costed Rs, 7, 500/-

Then I have calculated the operational cost and enquired with other customers also.almost75% of the people who purchased this e.scooter had to change the batteries before 17, 500km. I am giving the cost comparison per kilometer for e.bike and petrol scooter and I think this may be useful for you before u buy your e.bike.

petro scooter milege per litre of petro : 50km

cost of petro (andhra pradesh) :Rs.45-00 per litre

running cost per km : 0.90

engine oil cost per km :0.06 (the oil is to be changed for every 3000km and cost of one litre is Rs.200/-

TOTAL COST FOR 6000KM IS petro : 5400-00

oil : 360-00

total : 5, 760-00

for e. bike for same 6000km chargong current is 120 units(each charge gives 50km)

cost of current per unit(andhra pradesh) Rs.4-00. total 480-00

cost of battery per 6000km : 7500-00

ttla cost : 7980-00

as you see the petrol scooter operation cost for 6000 km is: 5, 760-00

e.bike operation cost for 6000km is : 7, 980-00

so you can compare which is cheaper. the more advantage of petrol scooter is you can get it repaired any where, no limit for trave and speed.

so please DO NOT GET CHEATED BY ADVERTISEMENTS.
