With so much of expecation and so much of enthusiasm, I brought my first vehicle, a Bajaj Saffire in August 2001, by taking a loan. I had just started my career and was earning enough to pay the loan. The vehicle is very good to look at and was absolutely stunning in its performace for the first few months.

Then, as the saying goes, all that glitters is not gold, the true color of the vehcile began to show. It broke down, in the middle of the night and I had to push it for 8 km to reach my home. When I contacted a reputed service station in Bangalore, for 2 days, I got a response ''we are busy and are short of staff''.

Only after I called up the regional office and threatened legal action, did some one have a look at the bike, and they repaired it in 3 days and gave me a lame excuse ''Petrol problem''. How can I have a problem with the petrol all of a sudden, when I have been filling up from the same gass station for the last few months? Then, the bike worked normally for another 5 months, then again it broke down.

This time, there was a compression leakage, and again, it was taken to the service center, after threatening the regional office and repaired in 3 days. All this, happened during the WARRANTY PERIOD. Then, the vehicle was working, barely, with a mileage of 25-30 per KM. If put up for sale, its not worth more than few thousands. Imagine the quality of the product, which was brought for 37k, bring worth only 8-9k in 3 years time. Add to that, BAJAJ has stopped producing this vehicle. Does this mean, they have realised their mistake? if this was a mistake, then what about the scores of people who have invested their hard earned money in this under performing vehicle? Who is to be held responsible? I have lost all faith in Bajaj, and my next bike, nor any bike that any one of family will buy, will not be from BAJAJ.

The less said about the service done at their authorised service centered, the better. THEY ARE WORST THAN HE GOVERMENT OFFICIALS AT THE GOVERNMENT OFFICES. This HAMARA baja, is only for the Bajaj people and not for people, who use Bajaj products.
