Let me share my experience with Super splendor. I was owning splendor plus which I changed and purchased Super splendor on jun 2006. I did not have problem with the bike for the first 20000 Kms then I started to feel that the shock absorbers are hard and wanted to change it...
I serviced the back shocks twice but did not improve then finally changed it and put gabriel Shock absorbers..Still sometimes I feel the back shocks are hard... then every 2000 kms I changed the engine oil and every time I see that half of the oil would have dried up and the remaining in pitch black.. I had problems with gearbox after 24000 kms which I repaired by changed the gear rings and clutch plates...then at approx 25000kms I serviced the front fork and changed the oil. I changed both the tyres approx at 29000kms and again changed the fork oil...
My office is 22kms from my place. So I travel 45kms every day....Its a good fuel efficient vehicle with a milegae of 60+ per liter but I kind of feel that I get backpain everyday when I travel by splendor..The backpain seems to be very less if I use scooty or activa. After 25000 kms I have started to spend a lot on maintaince like tyres, fork oils, etc ...Not sure if this is normal.
Overall if you aske me I would say is a good bike but Splendor Plus is always better simply bcos of their looks, mileage and most important re-sale value..Splendor plus is much smoother than Super splendor.. Anyone pls advise if it is common to get backpain in anybike if travelled 45 kms everyday or is it that Super splendor has hard shocks...
Overall rating 6 out of 10 is what I would give....
