Dear readers,

I bought a new SS on 25th september(with es and drum brake)... I test drove all other 125cc 4 stroke bikes available before doing so... And my review is based on a few facts...

1> SS is NOT a bike meant for racing or speeding or anything. It is a commuter bike

2> I look at an overall review not just mileage or looks or ride quality individually.

Having ridden on all the competition I find the super splendor the most refined 125cc bike in its class... Practically the super splendor is not meant for whizzing around but as a stable city commuter...

After one week of use and finishing 700 kms as well as the first service, I must say i'm glad one the whole... HH has produced its usual refined ride quality... I mean the bike rides without a whir at about 50-60 kmph... I cannot comment too much about mileage since its too early, but what I can say is that on my first filling, with pillion and all, it gave me just over 50... The gearbox is smooth and the electric start is nice and responsive... Power delivery is as expected... And the SS really has all the good qualities of a proper city bike...

My advice to all readers who are looking at the SS is GO AHEAD, BUY IT... The HH name is trusted... And the quantum core technology of HH is not all that old... And most importantly, drive it well... By well I don't mean race and all... Follow the instructions in your manual... It will go a long way...

HH has proven its class earlier.... Compared to other manufacturers like Baja(Severe gearbox problems on all its bikes), TVS(service not up to the mark anywhere, gearbox problems, throttle dangerously responsive), Honda(cheap electricals, otherwise no problems), suzuki(poor quality of service and network), yamaha(poor service, overall does not live up to expectations)... HH will always stand out for its sheer class and good quality overall.... Honda is not yet at par with HH but if you look at another manufacturer, i'd say go for honda....

SS is so far a splendid bike with time tested HH reliability and research behind it.... No one copares better... Cheers to all... And anyone in Bangalore South region, I recommend Majestic Mobikes as the HH dealer overall...

Review after 4000 kms

Well, its been a while riding my frost blue steed now... Just over one and a half months...

I must say, all teh HH haters out there really don't know anything about the SS...

It is really a terrific bike.... Recently, on a 5 litre filling it gave me 303 km, that too when about 300 was in city and with a pillion... The total payload on the bike was 140 kg... Now with a 60+ mileage with pillion, I should think anyone would be foolish enough to degrade this bike.... The average is 62-65 with careful driving...

The gear shift has never given any problem... It has been smooth along and a soft touch from the heel or toe puts it in gear with a barely audible click... No issues there...

There has been no problem with any of the parts or the paint, this in spite of repeated wetting because of the construction going on nextto my office...

The electric start is spot on and there is no significant discharge of the battery... And the convenience of the ES is highlighted well at long signals...

The power delivery is amazingly smooth with no hitches... I can easily shoot off at signals from the front(not race!!!) with minimal strain to engine or gearbox....

There has been absolutely no cold start problem so far... And it always unfailingly starts at one kick without any throttle application

The service centre has been spot on so far... Good customer care and proper service(not at all overcharged)... Good advice...

About the only problem i've faced so far is the slight lack of grip when the brakes are jammed hard... I had a near miss cause of an idiot Zen driver... But I must commend the front brakes as they were really effective in reducing a collision..

Overall HH quality so far has been exceptional considering that my mileage on an average day is around 50kms.... Its a trouble free, no nonsense bike at a good price....

People, I would suggest, if you're basically a city rider with minimal highway riding and looking for something which is easy to ride and a good balance of power and mileage with added reliability, go for the SS without batting an eyelid.... To others I recommend the Gladiator or if necessary the Zeus... Seriously speaking, the Victor GLX and the Discover are nowhere near the HH and Yamaha bikes in terms of overall quality.....

Don't worry about spares as there are significant numbers on the road and HH has never failed its popular product customers on this front... And the cost isn't so high when you consider the fact that they last long... Really long...

Do rate my review if you haven't already done so....

Happy riding...
