Like the tag line from an old HH advertisement(a very successful campaign though) ‘Just fill it shut it and forget it’ is truly apt for this bike. An ideal commuter bike.
First of all till date Touch wood, I have had no engine issues till date. i must admit, it really is a no problem bike. Maybe in my case it may be a bit premature to pass judgements since I have been riding it only for the past 6 months but over all'so far so good'.
While you tend to see a lot many bike in the same class on the roads these days, you can’t help but compare with your bike. I have couple of observations to make, wish the concerned take note.
First of all the gear shift is a tad too stiff, at times you may have to literally step on it, guys who have muscular legs will have no problem, it is not smooth at all, needs a lot of refinement in comparison to other bikes in its class.
The initial pick up also can be improved a lot when in comparison to say a Bajaj Discoverer or a Honda Shine.
It would be a welcome if HH comes out with a fresh new design, this design is as old as the hill, I’m seeing this design from the time I was in half pants, and it is high time that one gets a new touch and feel experience.
The shocks can be complimented with Gas Shocks as some of the contemporary bikes have, this will obviously enhance the riding quality.
The speedometer can go digital instead of the present analog one. There is a lot of scope for refinement on this bike. The reason i’m saying this is because, being the industry leader in this segment you have to set benchmarks and make other ‘follow the leader’.
It has been almost 6 months since I bought my HH Super Splendour. My verdict on a scale of 10 is 6.
I still would recommend people who are consicious about mileage and not too concerned about looks to give it a serious thought of buying HH Super Splendour if planning to buy a 125 cc bike among a plethora of options. It defnitely is not for the urban dude from colleage who is pumped up with high adrenalin and rearing to have a go!
