I m Anand Sharma from Hisar, Haryana. I purchased this bike 5 years ago (2002), but writing its review now bcoz I m new to mouthshut n its my 2nd review. I purchased this bike for 3 reasons- mileage, mileage & mileage, even though some people advised me to go for bajaj caliber. Lets see I made a right or wrong decision. Coming to review.

Let’s go step by step:- Engine: - The same engine give power to most of HH bike ranging from CD to Passion and also to legendry HH bike CD100SS. It feels good when it is new……especially for initial 5, 000-10, 000 kms. After that its performance drops badly. When this was new it use to give me mileage of 65 after that it drops to 50-5.

I think its not good for a 97cc & 100 kg. Bike. Even though I use to ride it up to speed of 55 only and never rev it hard for crazy pick-up, still it never improved from a figure 55 though many mechanic tried their hands on it. Other aspects of engine are that its not at all powerful; lacks pick-up& refinement badly. With pillon rider engine feels way underpowered and demands frequently low gears…..

No low end torque and also not a highway king……behave weirdly after speed of 70. Comfort:- Ergonomics of bike is not good and balance is also not up to the mark. It starts wobbling after speed of 70. Overall its not very comfortable at all and full of vibrations. Seat is bit hard but new model has got luxury one even shape of seat is not good it has downward slope so u tend to slip down which results in back & hip aches. Durability:- Its engine got leaked at 25, 000 kms….cost me 200 bucks to make it repair. Clutch pate replacement at 26, 000 kms.

And so on……up to 50, 000 I got new engine (everything replaced)….I know it sounds funny . Its bcoz of poor quality parts and very poor refinement. Handling & Control:- Due to its thin back tire sometime bike feels like that it got punctured ( many times I felt it), but it was not like that. My friends also reported that. Front wheel is good but bike skids in if u apply brakes hard. Overall not up to mark.

Looks: - Personally I am not a looks enthusiast. But due to its looks that this bike created an aura of curiosity among buyers. The day I purchased this bike it was the 17th bike sold that day by HH. In nutshell, I admire that with same engine HH CD100SS became an legendary bike and this bike failed to that except sales in which it is way ahead (highest selling bike for more then 3 consecutive years). This was a average performer…

But now its outdated, only HH brand lovers can consider it while buying. Personally I don’t admire any brand, I believe in admiring bikes only. My father is driving it from last 4 yrs.( he has lot of patience). But now he also wants to change it after clocking 70, 000 kms. So now I m searching a good budget bike for him and I have shortlisted Suzuki heat only after test riding all the bikes of entry-level segment. Lets see how it will perform………looking good in terms of refinement, smoothness, robustness, build quality and mileage but lacks power I think…..its equal to 110cc bike……but yet with mileage of 100cc……which is quite good at a price tag of 37, 000.
