I own a Nov 2003 HH Splendor and it has done 48, 000+ km till now. It is a great commuter bike and not too bad a choice even for rides up to 400 km per day. However the company needs to look at the issue of thin tyres on the back wheel which compromises on the road grip and when you apply brake at high speeds the vehicle tends to skid. I have solved this problem by opting for a broader tyre at the back(CEAT SECURA SPORT-3.00*17).
The mileage, even after replacing the tyre is around 59-60 in part city-part highway conditions. My monthly average is around 1000km/month these days; 300-400 of them clocked on the Bangalore-Mysore highway.
I use SHELL petrol. Though it costs 2-3 rupees more than the other variants, it keeps the engine pretty smooth and delivers good mileage.
I don't think people who have used splendor for at least 6 months will go for any other 100 cc bike. They can only move upwards-for a above 100cc bike.
Hats off to Splendor.
PS: In spite of my unalloyed loyalty to Splendor, I would prefer to stay miles away from the new Splendor+. It is a very poor cousin to the original splendor. Better stay away.
I have lost the information booklet that comes along with the Bike when we buy it from the showroom. I want to acquaint myself with all the minor techniques like removing a tyre and refitting it(puncture ke time me) etc etc. Can somebody suggest where I can get it online? The HH website is of no use in this regard.
