I bought Hero Honda Splendor NXG in Oct 2007. I had no idea about bikes before that. There was no specific reason for which I bought this bike except my budget was not very high.
I will say NXG looks not as good as it works. In city, where traffic congestion is very high, it is a very handy and riding NXG is a pleasure. Because it runs very smooth between 30-50 KMPH. Above 50 KMPH it will vibrate a lot and very high speed is not recommended in the city usually. Fuel consumption was initially good (60+ KM/L) . But for last two months, after 3rd servicing, I found that consumption has increased(55 KM/L). Though colour / design is not so impressive, I find the structure quite impressive and till now it has not given much trouble.
I have doubt about its rear wheel capacity, mainly when sharp turning is required. It may skid in high speed if not handled with care. Also it vibrates a lot above 50 KMPH and becomes uncomfortable.
So, considering the city traffic it is highly recommendable. Price wise it is highly affordable.
