Which Scooter is best to buy ? Middle Path – Pleas. Review on Hero Honda Pleasure

Believe me, its really tough to make decision on Scooter to go with having so many choice around.

Finally, I decided on Hero Honda Pleasure . but with you, first get to know what you looking for. For me, I was looking for Scooter for my Wife & Also for me to go with family or ride for myself once in a while.  So, it’s a Combo.

Things to look for before making decision.  For me priority in the order of:

1.       Safety

2.       Mileage

3.       Spares Availability & cost.

4.       Maintenance expenses

5.       Price

6.       Usability

7.       Technicalities

Pleasure –

Obviously from reputed company Hero Honda.  I have Splendor, and very happy with that.  Have brought few million smiles with Fill it, Shut it and Forget it.

Recently released and Market share is Picking up, so response is good.  I saw the scooter, it is rightly sized for Ladies as well.  100 cc is quite good enough . again Middle path.

Felt Pep+ 90 cc is less for family, and 125 cc access too much for Indian roads.   Ground Clearance & Wheel dia is comfortable.  Again well suits to its size.  Very Stylish looks, still simple curves.   Good Road grip.

Though targeted for Ladies with Theme “Just 4 her” or “Why Men should have all fun” . its just a Marketing gimmicks seeing competitors and Influence females can create in buying.

I feel, Men can use it as well.  Not just built for Ladies . like Ladies bird bicycle.  But, don’t choose Pink colors

Mileage wise, again Middle path – between Activa and Pep+ from the market feedback.  Though  I don’t want to talk on numbers . it depends on your maintenance, roads and  way you Throttle.  From sheer Size( 100 cc),  Power( BHP) and Engineering confidence from Hero Honda . I can buy the argument of around 45 kmpl for an Automated geared vehicle.  You can’t expect 70 plus like Splendor or Bajaj Platinum geared bikes.

Its Not too Heavy, around 105 kgs . so comfortable for family.  Only thing is considering Fiber body . need to handle with extra care & delicacy.

Hero Honda has very good Customer care & Service Network being India’s Top selling 2 wheelers company.   So, Servicing or Availability of Spares is Not an issue.

I still would have gone for Indian companies like Bajaj or TVS Scooty Pep+ . considering the spares would be cheaper and maintenance cost low . but Hero Honda too, Never troubled me.  Also, Pep+ & Bajaj scooter didn’t come upto the expectation on my other considerations.

Honda Spares & Services should obviously be expensive . Same should be with Suzuki Access.

Price wise, again Middle path.  Would have got Pep+ for few thousands less but . when comes to purpose, I can’t go with my family.   Also, it look small . just fit for One teen to ride.

Activa was quite expensive, but 2 months of wait time sucks.  Can’t afford in this Fast Culture.  More over, didn’t see much of a difference in Performance or Price or any other.

I feel, Active has 40% Market share for now . since its their for ages.

Also, Hero Hondo is Joint venture of Honda . so you obviously get cream of Activa in Pleasure.

Though Unicorn from Honda is a good bike, their Marketing reach & Service Network is very limited.  So, couldn’t beat Splendour inspite of Performance par with it.

As told before, I couldn’t think of Pep+ when planning to go out with family.  Though its spacious seat below, feel Ground clearance and Wheel dia is less.  90 cc with less BHP can’t pull family in hard terrine.  So, coming with less price defeats the purpose of my buy.

I also considered Kinetic Blazze, Suzuki Access,  Bajaj Kristal, Honda Dio or Aviator.  But didn’t make much Impact.

Kinetic Blaze, uhh its 166 cc.  What do I do with that?  Kinetic their for ages without much technology advance.  Also, after Honda moving out of Kinetic . it hasn’t grown big.  Its Marvel or Nova didn’t do much in Market giving room for people like Honda to take over their share.

Suzuki Access, I liked the Scooter very much.  Great looks, 125 cc Nice power, Looks Huge and good for Family.  Also, Name Suzuki talks about its Quality . I know from my first bike Suzuki Samurai . which is No Problem bike.  But, Now with current Gas( petrol) price and still going high couldn’t visualize the need for 125 cc with Less Mileage.

Bajaj Kristal, though my initial favorite for buy . fail to impress.  Also heard about some Technical problems in Krisal( might be rumor).  Didn’t want to go by that, but features aren’t very Impressive.

Honda Dio or Aviator is again 45k price tag, 2 months wait time . and pretty much same as Activa.

Even thought of buying some Electric scooter released to market recently.  But idea didn’t carry far, as Maintenance cost would be more after some time and since New in market, scared about Reva’s failure.

Going with Pleasure for now,  you guys Analyse what best suites your need / wants and Decide.

I am Not good at writing blogs or comments online like this.  But, I had problem getting  information and was very confused, so thought should share my experience.

More over, I use to feel its waste of time writing blogs though believed in reading blogs for the information I use to get.  Y’day read a Marketing book which says, In 1994 plus Email or Internet impact on Top … But 2000 plus, to my surprise Community websites, Blogs are of higher impact.  Believe me again.
