Introduction:
=======
I bought Hero Honda Passion Pro in 2009 June 1st week from "SRI SAI RAM MOTORS", BANNERGHATTA ROAD, Near Jayadeya Hospital Flyover, Bangalore.
I have booked the bike in March 2009 and got the delivery in June 2009.
Every time I visit the showroom, they keep telling that there is too much queue and hence the wait time. However, I have seen delivering the vehicle to people who came with brokers (with hero honda passport id). So, I decided to take this forward and complained to hero honda supervisor vyasarajrao@herohonda.com and CCd the showroom folks MMPL1234@vsnl.net,
babummpl@gmail.com.
I have scanned the bills and attached to the email. I got a reply from vyasarajrao within 2 hours and I got a call from the showroom folks immediately and they told that the vehicle is ready. So, I took the delivery. However, I was completely disappointed with the behavior of the sales folks. But, there is one person by name venkatesh in the service staff (u will notice him when u take ur vehicle to service) and he is good guy.
I took the vehicle home and by the time I reached home, I noticed some wrong sound from the silencer. Then, found that they did not fit the bolt properly. So, I called up the service department and they told them to get the bike. I was staying near marathahalli. So, I couldn't take the bike to showroom just for the sake of a bolt. So, I called up and asked if there is any service person living near marathahalli. Then, luckily I got one person and I took his number. I called him up and was in constant touch. He came at 9 PM and fixed it. However, he charged 50 rupees for that.
Since, its been 3 years and drove 30000 Kms, I feel I am eligible to write this review.
Vehicle Pros and Cons:
================
1) As soon as you service the vehicle, it works just fine.
2) After you drive 50 + Kms from the point you service the vehicle, Bike stops everytime you slow down your vehicle. However, the self start works just fine. But, you should have good patience to do this. For eg: I was working at egl, Koramangala and I used to come thru challagatta route, which is bad . You cannot come beyond 10-20 Kms. within that 200 mts stretch, I used self start not less than 10 times.
You will find HH manufacturer's mother and sister to abuse :-)
3) Head Lamp is not good. Light focus is too bad.
4) Mileage used to be 50-53 Kms. I won't drive beyond 60 KMPH. So, I beleive that should be the best mileage figures within the city.
5) After running 20K kilometers, the digital meter and the speedometer stopped working. I got it repaired and the service guy told that the digital meter is automatchandru021y fixed when they fix the speedometer.
6) Brakes are not so good. But, they are OK to handle in normal speeds within city. Remember the bad tyres when you put abrupt brakes.
7) The worst part in the bike is the tyres that you get by default. The tyres skid a lot. I have missed 3 major accidents. Mostly, the tyres skid during the turnings and on the mud that is accumulated at corners of the road post raining. So, never go beyond 40-50 during a rainy day.
8) The ride comfort is not so good. After driving the bike for 3 yrs and 30K kilometers, I now suffer from back pain. So, thinking to buy a scooter. Simple logic is, when a speed braker is crossed, the whole shocks are taken by the bottom disks (just above the hip).
However, in scooters like activa , the shocks are absorbed by the legs as you dont split your legs like in a bike.
9) Though they told that the battery charges automatchandru021y, after I completed 25000 kilometers, I observed that the buzzer and the lights were not performing well. I don't know the exact reason. But, I am giving the symptom here.
10) Bike will lose the balance, if it crosses 70 KMPH.
11) Its not good for two heavy people.
12) When I enquired about the resale of the vehicle, 3 yrs of usage, 30000 Kms and every 2000 Kms sericed vehicle and which is giving 50 KMPH, Digital Meter, red and black, APDV vehicle with insurance for another 8 months has a resale value of 40-45 K. Many people asked for 42 K.
Comparatively, I feel Honda Shine is a better buy in this segment.
