Hi,

After a long long time I am writing a review on Hero Honda Karizma.Well better to say my own experience.

I bought a Hero Honda Karizma in January,2005.It's a black coloured.I preferred this as I somehow found that this colour really shows a majestic appearance. And it has it's own appeal to all ages and classes.Though there are other colours like-Myth Gold metallic,Sparkling Silver,Turquoise Blue,Candy blazing red, moon yellow and Pearl compose red.The new sticker is very poorly designed, and it has no more the golden template written-'karizma',though in my bike it has.

karizma is a 223 CC,17PS power pack bike.It has several unique things.Lets start with the instrumental console. It has a digital odometer, digital trip meter, digital fuel gauge as well as a real time clock. When you switch on the whole background of the entire console illuminates and is clearly visible even under the bright sun shine.

The headlight is trapezoidal with multi reflector and halogen lamp for a bright and clear visibility. The tail light also has a multi reflector with two bulbs.

There is a large disk brake in the front wheel. It has a 276mm diameter and it comes from 50km/hr to 0 km/hr in just 2.7 seconds.

The fuel tank is tear drop shaped and has a capacity of 15lt. with a reserve of 2lt.

The muffler is tempered colour with a heat guard. The rear tyre is wider 100x90x18.

The chain cover has a dual colour.

There is a digital CDI called Advanced Microprocessor Ignition with intelligent carburettor with a carb controlled variable ignition for better controlling over ignition timing.

It's a long bike and one may find it bit difficult to turn it in a crowded segment, but again it's a very trust worthy bike and won't let you down.I faced such problems initially but now totally habituated and can do it with ease.

There were many pundits who warned me not to purchase this bike as it's light is always focussed straight. But in reality it doesn't bother at all.

It doesn't cruise as pulsar180 cc.It's a gentleman. And you will wonder that a passion or a splendor takes a upper hand when you move through the crowded streets. But once it gets a highway it shows all it's skill and proofs that it's a real master, who means business.

Personally I feel it needs a disk brake in the rear wheel also.

The front part which covers the instrumental console and headlight is very costly and one should take care to protect that. But in India, when you possess something beautiful, other road side guys take a special care on that when you keep your bike in a coner and leave for some business.

Finally comes the fuel consumption.Well,I live in a town, known as Siliguri, which is famous for rickshaws and autos.I run in urban segment which is heavily crowded,I have to clutch a lot and maximum on third and fourth gear;rarely on fifth,as I have no option on those roads;and it gives me a decent 34km/lt(on normal petrol). Not bad.

Right now I am testing with 'Speed' from Bharat Petroleum and will let you know whether there is a change in consumption or not.
