I know some of you have come looking for review of zmr because you want to buy a premium indian bike and some also are reading this as they r regular readers of bike reviews. my title is a bit confusing right? ok then 1st answer the question- pulsar 220 looks and feels very attractive that any1 can fall in luv with it instantly. isn't it? read my review to know my experience how a man was screwed by a bike    https://mouthshut.com/review/Bajaj-Pulsar-220-review-qtumlpssmn .


another thing for those who r thinking of buying this bike- I was also a patient of the CHALTA HAI disease faced by most indians as shown in bajaj's add. when I thought of buying p220 I compared it with zmr, r15 and rtr180, no Fuel injection- par CHALTA HAI, no petal disks- par CHALTA HAI, same rear style as p180- par CHALTA HAI     and many more things which I ignored during buying. you dont do the same mistakes. so I have written a lot about past. now we can come to my experience with my black beast.


THE 1ST RIDE


I took the delivery from rohan authoriders, bhubaneswar on january 21, 2011. that was a friday. it was 5 pm when I took the delivery. in that cold evening, I was in a thin t-shirt. when I started the engine, the sweet smooth roar and the cool breeze increased my pulse. I was a bit uncomfortable with the heavy weight of this bike which I got used to later. the engine's sound seemed like a mixture of the sounds of hero hoda glamour and karizma-r but in a much smoother way. the clutch and gear box were like butter to use.


THE FIRST TRIP


I was unable to sleep all night I brought it home. I got up 3 times that night and stared at my bike, as soon as the dawn broke, I took the karizma out and started for kakatpur, the temple of goddess for the pooja which is 65 kms away from my home. on the lonely expressway of the winter morning I kept my speedo varying between 42-48 kmph. the RTMI was showing 37-39 kmpl. I was a bit disappointed, but that was a new bike just ridden 25-30 kms. so I decided not to lose hope till 1st service.


THE RIDE QUALITY


I had ridden a friend's karizma before. the difference in the zmr was the suspension. oh boy. that was beautifully tuned for highway and rough road riding not for tracks though. I was not @ all tired during the 7 kms rogh road in the trip. the broad seat had enough space to place my asss comfortably. absolutely brilliant highway machine.


HANDLING AND BRAKES


despite being 160 kgs the bike did a brilliant handling job. cornering is easy but you have to slow down to gain confidence. both disk brakes work brilliantly, no complaints.


THE ELECTRONICS AND FEATURES


when you switch it on, it comes with a welcome message. there's no needle in the dash, everything is digital and is perfect. the light is DC. RTMI shows mileage which varies from time to time with riding conditions. it also has a clock. it has six intelligent sensors, I till now dont know about them completely.


THE 1ST SERVICE


even after the 1st service I continued to drive in the economy zone. nothing changed other than the mileage that went up by 2-3 kmpl under same conditions.


THE 2ND SERVICE


after I completd the 2nd service, the servicemen told me I can now have access to triple digit speeds. but I decided to wait for another service. after the 2nd service I started getting mileage of 37-38 kmpl in city. I was very happy. after the 3rd service, mileage continued to be the same. but it was the time to put the ZMR on fire.


THE 1ST THRILLING RIDE


I chose a breezy morning of april to twist the throttle on the lonely highway. I started the bike and twisted it hard. the bike was on 110 kmph in no time at all. I think I did that before 20 seconds. no signs of vibration up to 95kmph. the engine felt a bit uncomfortable when I touched 123kmph. I didn't go further. the brakes were wonder. they worked with excellence even when stopping from triple digit speeds.


SOME PROBLEMS FACED


when cruising, the handle starts wobbling @ 65 kmph and stops wobbling @75 kmph. is that the problem with all karizmas or I got a faulty piece? the mirrors vibrate a lot. it's hard to see aything in the mirrors when u r in a speed above 80 kmph.


AFTER 1.5 YEARS


I have completed 17600 kms on my bike. all services are done. mileage is consistent tht was on th 2nd service. the engine still possesses the same refinement. engine doesnt seem to be heated even after a constant ride of 320 kms. the quality of parts are amaging. maintainance costs r low. I havent spent anything execpt the costs for engine oil, suspension oil and brake oil. each and every electronic part is working beautifully. battery is fine.


FEW LAST WORDS


GUYS,  I will recommend this bike for every one who cant buy r15 or CBR due to less budget. but never waste your money ending up with taking a pulsar. the new users of karizma and also them who want to buy this I would like to tell you something. keep your services and maintainance up to date as written in the manual. check the battery. wheels.tyres, suspensions regularly. take care of your bike and it will take care of you. just do as in the servce book and u dont have to pay a single rupee extra. I am sure many members will comment my review as boring, useless and biased but every single word writen in this review is true and experienced by me.


ATTENTION - OWNERS OF SOME WASTE BIKES THAT ARE MEANT TO BE THROWN IN DUSTBIN AFTER 1 YEAR OF RIDING, I KNOW YOU WILL BE ANGRY ON ME AFTER READING THIS. PLEASE DONT POST FILTHY OR OFFENSIVE COMMENTS.
