HUNK, CBZ Xtreme with design modifications.

I  booked HH Hunk (panther black) on 2/11/07 and got the vehicle delivered for the same on 21/11/07. The on road price for Bangalore being Rs. 65, 361/-. Before booking the vehicle, I closely considered Pulsar150/180, Unicorn and CBZ Xtreme and to some extent Pulsar 200.

The first thing, which demands attention is the comparison of the tech specs of HH Hunk and HH CBZ Xtreme.

The tech specs clearly reveal that Hunk is not really a new bike in the 150cc segment, rather is just a new design coming out of the HH production lines. Its Macho' looks are just an attempt to steal some share of the Pulsar flock.

Now, something about my experience with the bike,

Design:

The overall design is well done, and by god's grace HH didn't use their cheap graphics on the body which gives the bike an elegant macho' look though the bike commands a little more height as is the case with CBZ Xtreme.

As pointed out in the earlier reviews about the product, LED tails and Digi-meters are missing which would have been better if placed. I would add here that the red chrome background analog speedometer is quite well done, which also houses the trip meter.

As far as the looks go, the bike would have looked better with the body coloured shocks and not the  golden ones given, looks/colours are subjective, so I leave it here...

Performance:

The  bike's engine is well refined and makes little noise, as is the case with Unicorn's. The ride is smooth, with a 14.4 bhp engine offering you good pickup and overall power. The large rider and stepped seat too offers you good level of comfort. I would add here that the handling is far better than any of the available bikes in 150-200 cc segment.

I haven't yet tested the topspeed, the company officials claim it to be 110kmph. The mileage being claimed as 53kmpl for Bangalore city conditions. The tyre dimensions being similar to that of the CBZ Xtreme allows you deep bends without lowering the speed , keeping a good grip on the road.

One thing to add here, there's some modification (AMI with a new carb') with the engine-carb technology which somehow pushes the performance of Hunk better than CBZ Xtreme.

The company claims it has used ground breaking technology for the rear suspension (GRS - Inert Gas Reservoir System), but the front telescopic shock-forks are short, they gotta be longer for better front braking.

Fuel Consumption:

With the change in the fuel injection through the carb' the bike is expected to give a better mileage than CBZ Xtreme, and more generally class high in the 150 cc segment with the kinda performance stated.

Conclusion:

With performance and power there's no talk about mileage/economy, but only a fool would turn face away from gettin a combo. Hunk in true sense, is a right mix of both being good at design (probably the only reason why CBZ Xtreme didn't come as a rage as it was earlier) and at the same time being good at performance levels.

Its a good buy for guys looking forward to a Powerful Stylish Commuter.

Cheers !
