Please help me choose between the yamaha fz and the HH hunk based on the following parameters:

  1. I'm 5'7, 68kg. My budget is around Rs.75000

  2. My workplace is 25kms away from my residence; so daily commute amounts to roughly 60kms(+/- 10 km).

  3. The most important factor for me is that the bike have the least maintenance among its peers.

By maintenance I mean that it wont start developing age related problems for at least 4 years and when it does start reporting errors that they can be fixed cheaply and easily.

I currently own a hand-me-down TVS Fiero which came to me after 30000 kms of usage and the 1 thing it has taught me about myself is that I have 0 tolerance for malfunctioning machinery. I wish I was one of those guys who's  passionate enough about his bike to actually enjoy maintaining and repairing it, but sadly I'm just not that guy; I do feel that way about computers and electronics and maybe even cars(though dont have one yet); but weirdly not about auto motives.

  1. Require a fuel efficiency of at least 50kmpl. 55-60 kmpl would be a bonus.

  2. I'm a very steady, boring kind of driver;rarely go beyond 70kmph and have crossed 100kmph only 2-3 times in 2 years of driving the fiero.

I've ruled out the 125/135cc bikes as I think they will feel really underpowered especially since I've been used to the 150cc fiero for over 2 years now. Also ruled out the 180cc+ bikes because of fuel economy, budget constraints and am not interested in their performance surplus. Not at all excited by bajaj the pulsar- too common.

Not interested in tvs/suzuki products-fiero is really troublesome and I'm being forced to sell it for Rs.12000 when a comparable HH or bajaj bike goes for ~Rs.20000. I think the most natural answer is be the hunk but here's the problem:

I really like the fz but am very sceptical in terms of its practicality; especially for a guy like me. The reason for this thread is to ascertain whether the fz is really that bad a buy especially in terms of maintenance. I'm totally bowled over by its looks and style to the extent that I'm obsessed with it and yearn for it but the handling and performance have always underwhelmed me and never impressed me as much as the looks. Maybe its just me, but whenever I've driven the fz it always feels like just any other 150cc bike.

Is it possible to get 50kms to the liter for the fz with my driving style or is it simply impossible. My family is really bent on getting the hunk and I'm willing to buy the fz instead but I absolutely do not want to regret my decision 3 years down the line(again, in terms of maintenance).

Excuse me for such a long query but I wanted to be as detailed about my needs as I could so that you wont have to waste our time asking me.

Thanks a lot.
