This is my first MS review, however I have benefited from this site on several issues. HH Hunk is my second bike, 1st being yamaha RXZ 135. Bikes considered before buy - 1. BAJAJ - Pulsar 180 and 200 ( was almost undone by looks of 200. cons- sitting position, reviews on used P200, after sale service and frequent niggles )
HH- CBZ, Hunk and Karizma - liked the looks and ride of hunk, almost same ride quality of CBZ, didn't like the sitting position of karizma, also more overdone ( flairing) for a service person.
Apache RTR- short bike for my height
Honda unicorn- same engine as in hunk with very good all over reviews. Looks very much bland and contemporary.
Finally purchased Black HUNK in september 2008. Has done 3000 K till now and underwent 3 free services.
1st the likings ( plus points)
Very refined 150cc engine with good pick up and decent mileage ( 42-44) in city conditions.
Comfortable ride position with good handling and ride quality. Took it for 3 hr uninterrupted ride without any stress to the bike and more importantly back and other body parts of the rider (myself).
Reliablility - Although the bike is just 10 month old with only 3000 k on odo, mentionable point is that my office and house is just 1 km, so the bike has to go through frequent self starts and switch offs. NO problem whatsoever with morning starts even in peak winters of Patiala.(have hardly used the kick ).
Have come through the reviews stating starting problems during rains and winters, I must sate that I HAVE NOT gone through any such problem.
- Looks - Liked by most. Most importantly by my 3 year daughter. She just wants a daily evening ride and can recognise the HUNK standing in hundreds of other bikes. ( A plus point of hunk not being a very common bike on road )
Negatives -1. A strange sound which feels to come from rear break drum / chain, on pressing foot breaks. Problem persists even after 3 services. ( also mentioned by some other reviewers)
- Brakes lack the bite , not very inspiring on sudden braking at high speeds. A VERY LOW POINT. Have not tried speeds above 96 because of the same. Hero Honda needs to look into the matter.
