Yeah that’s what I intent to write in this review. Here’s a reality check of what you get for your money in the class of 150 cc. Before making my decision, I made an exhaustive research and this is what I found:

150 CC Comparison check: what you have is a P150, Unicorn, A160RTR and the X-treme. Frankly speaking, the competition is just between the X-treme and the A160. P150 is an outdated crude performer… You should drive a year used one and you yourself will find out. The level of refinement is just not upto the mark. Infact most of my P150 friends are cribbing about the bike. Just save those 60 grands for your retirement planning than wasting on this hyped machine…

The Unicorn easily could have been the best bike in this class had the Honda engineers given her higher power ratings without troubling her refinement levels. If you are the one to use your bike a long-long time(may be a decade!) then this is the bike made just for you. It is very superiorly engineered may be it be build quality, handling or the engine.

Drawing the finishing line, its very tough to choose between the X-treme and the RTR as none of them are perfect in every sense. Like the X-treme looks a class apart if looked from the side but just have a look at its head light… It sucks! Proportion is what I liked in the X-treme. It looks so masculine(even more than P150). The tail is so neatly exceuted. One big question to HH: Why are there no digital speedo’s?Do they cost so dear? Have a look at the rear swing arm and you fill find you can easily fit that broad rear tyre which you have always wanted… The seating position is so comfy with an engine that’s so silky smooth and silent. Tall gearing for better top end performance. Mileage better than the RTR.

From head to tail the RTR looks sleek and stylish. Oh Gawd, the digital speedo is far sexier than any other available in India. The bike retains its nimble character but I didn’t like the bike’s smallish design much. All right the bike has the highest power-to-weight ratio and torque-to-weight ratio but who cares? Even looks matter… Refinement is good may be slightly better than X-treme the exhaust note is good as well. Petal Disc is one to die for…

In short:

If you are looking for a superior product(long life) then opt for the UNICORN. Very good tourer.(I drove it for 6.5 hours flat and I was driving it back home same day without a single sense of pain) If you are short heighted, young and restless, go for RTR. If you want a good mix of a tourer bike and a sporty bike go for the X-treme. Buy a Pulsar if you are planning to go around delivering milk in your area….
