Hi All,

This is my first ever review on MS.  I own a CBZ for about a little over than four years.  I brought home this beauty in July, 2003.  Since then there is very little that this bike has ever asked me other than the normal Sevice Schedule and little changes here and there.  The bike has been a real delight to me from the day one of its ownership to me.  In one word if I need to sumup then this bike is real awsome.  Now to talk bout the Pros and Cons of this bike:

Pros:

Bike is really good on pickup, it goes 0-60 in just 6 seconds, and I have really checked it myself. But then you definitely need to compromise on the mileage that this bike gives.  I easily churn around 30-40 kms in Noida city drivings and occaional trips to Delhi as and when required.  Another added feature which other bike fails on is the so mentioned TPFC(Transient Point Fuel Consumption) whch really gives a kick to the bike at higher rpms when you really need to take over a other vehicle moving ahead of you.  I have till now beaten Bullet(Not kidding) in short sprints, and have also beaten several Pulsars for that matter.  Now we were talking bout TPFC, this technology is basically used in the racing cars, when wen u push the throttle the carburettor gets filled with fuel and a sudden surge is thus achieved to overtake other vehicles.

Suspensions are also good and in the past four years I have just have tightened them once and they are reall smooth and takes the patholes with ease without you ever realising that you jsut met with a pathole.

Seating position is also confirtable with its handle bar which is positons perfectly to give u a comfirtable riding positon.  I have myself done quite a few highway trips on thsi bike without any break down and without any issue at all what soever.  I have taken thsi machine to Massorie twice, been to Shimla once, and been to Nainital twice and there have been frequent trips to Jaipur as well.  I am person who doesnt want my bike to be in bad shape so have just done a Clutch plate change at arnd 23000 Kms, my bike till now has done 35000 Kms.  There is nothing that my bike has asked for till now other than the normal sevice at after each 5000 Kms.  I get the best engine oil, cos engine oil is one thing which has to be changed regularely for a lasting engine in long run.

I am still riding on the same company fitted tyres which came with my bike, except the rear tyre which is now a tubeless 120"(Veerubber - Thiland) with alloy wheels.  Nrmaly ppl think that getting broader tyres shall give u low mileage which is not the case as far as my bike is concerned, cos by having tubless tyres I shed the weight of the tube and hence maintaining the same mileage and dybamics.  Infact my observation has been, earlier without tubless tyre, my bike used to clock 60 KMPH at 6000 rpm, hwoever after tubless tyre, it clocks at 70 KMPH at the same rpm of 6000 rmp.

I have read few reviews on this website bout the gear changing lever, but in my option its the best as its only one sided.  I find it the most convenient postion to change gears.  Along with the kick stopper, every time you have to pull the footrest to kick start your bike, but once you get used to it you dont even feel the difference.  So these cant be considered as the cons.

As far as the pillion seating is concerned its the most convenient one as per my opinion, nrmally I get to sit on the rider seat only, but whenver I get a chance to sit at the pillion postion, I really feel like in a confirtable postion and feels really confirtable.  So rear seating cant be termed amongst cons as well.

Looks are again good, front tyre of this bike is intentionally smaller than the rear tyre and gives this bike a reall good look with that racing bike kinda look.  Which is really good and not at all bad.

Cons:

Bike does have a vibrating engine if you cmplare is with Bajaj- Pulsar, Honda- Unicaorn, but I did have a conversation bout with the Owner- Uppal Motors, Noida and he did clarified it to me that CBZ does have vibrations in the engine, but the engine life is bette than its counterpart and definitely I can validate his comments after using this machine for 4+ years now.

Against bike once pushed till 80 kmph, after than pushing this bike needs some real guts cos by that time the engine revs real fast with lotsa vibrations in it.  Hnce I normally drive it mad at a speed of 85 kmph.

Bikes rear tyre is bigger than the front, which on braking directs all the force towards the front shock absorbers and front shock absorbers tends to loosen up easily.  I have got then tightened up twice till now.

I also read someone mentioning that on breaking driver gets on to the tank and rear passenger gets on to the driver, the same happens due to the above mentioned reason as all the force on breaking directs towards the front of the bike more than compared to other bikes.

Rest to sum up I realy had a good time with this bike, and there are more good times to come in future.  I shall recommend this bike to all the ppl who are plannin to purchase one for themselves.  These are the genuine observations which I made bout this bike.  Really a good machine, you can trust it.

Happy and safe driving, comments are most welcome, do let me knwo if I have missed on anything here!

Cheers!
